Fantastic pizza, delicious sallads, and a wonderful shrimp curry make Ancoro d'Oro a must. Add to this a cold beer and an amazingly sweet and charming owner and you will leave here feeling terrific.

The visit to the restaurant was great, being pregnant i could not indulge in the lovely seafood dishes they had to offer. But the friends i was with really enjoyed the prawns and crayfish they ordered. The food is affordable being from South Africa and their exchange rate

Very nice, centrally located, bar and little restaurant. No luxuries, but we feel nice there AND they have generator which is a guarantee of having your coffee in a town where power cuts are the rule.

There are so many great options on the island (Rickshaws, Karibu, Escondidinho) - but we had no cash, the ATMs on the island seem to never work (keep that in mind!), and most of the places didn't take credit cards. It was good - but compared to the other places in town, this was just ok. Good pizza - and... More

I ate regularly at Ancora d'Ouro over a week-long holiday and found the food, from breakfast through to dinner, consistently good. Fresh seafood cooked simply but with tasty sauces and amazing Sicilian-style pizzas were a highlight, but don't miss out on the breakfast selection which includes some interesting home-made jams made with local fruits and even coconut!

Bistro style restaurant at the heart of the island's historical stonetown, that has been around for a decade under the present Swedish management. Had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here on different occasions during our stay, all of which were most delicious. The pizza is fantastic by any standard, and so is their take on the Mozambican mainstay matapa (here made... More

There is wifi here all day, which was the primary reason I came so often! The food was also good though, especially the lobster salad!

Food was very good, service was very friendly, and we did not experience any long waiting. The place is right across the old Church which gives a really nice vibe to the big room, and i very centrally located. We ordered different things, and we were all veyr happy with our food.
