Do you like banjos and can squeal like a pig? Crude, rude and obnoxious. Not much of a selection. Food is greasy and fried crap that will give you a heart attack or stroke. Cheap. A drunkard's dream, but without Bessie.
We had our reservations when we first pulled up. Mannequin strapped to a diving board with a kids pool in front of the diving board, A mannequin strapped to the front pillar of the bar. Don’t let the outside detour you from going inside. Fantastic...place! Loved looking at all the memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. Very clean. Cheeseburger and fries were yummy! Would recommend Sporty’s in a heartbeat.More
It’s for bikers of all kinds, a great friendly place to meet neighbors, bring friends and meet lots of characters. We had great drinks from spicy bloody Marie’s to IPA on tap. Sandwiches and burgers that were 1/2 lb. Loved it. Can even rent cabins.
This place has earned a reputation as a "biker bar". They host quite a few rides, are very friendly to bikes and larger groups, and are located on a nice twisty turny road (28N). The ride here alone is worth it!
AT the saloon, there's...plenty of parking and lots of seating outside. Inside, they have a museum load of cool bike stuff... bikes, license plates, signs, pictures, etc that will take you quite some time to look through. There's a long bar and several large tables inside.
No matter where you sit (the bar was full, so I sat at a large table), one of the very friendly and efficient staff members will find you and bring you a menu and take your drink order. The menu is pretty basic - cheese sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs. They have a full bar and serve all the 'regular beers' and they had Switchback on tap when I was there.
I ordered the cheeseburger special and added bacon and fried potatoes. The burger was a big half pound patty with two slices of cheese on grilled white bread. The fries were huge wedges of fried potatoes (more than enough for two people!). All prices include tax, so your final bill will come out even!
Overall, the service is outstanding and the food pretty good. The decor is incredible and it's worth the ride down to see it. On nice days, it will be packed with fellow riding enthusiasts of all natures...
This was an awesome spot on the bike! Food was good, just had hot dogs and fries. Beers were cold and well priced. Cabins out back are rented full time now. Would have been a neat spot to stay.
Tons of stuff to look at...inside the bar.
Recommend for a pit stop on a bike ride.More
