Food was ok-ordered steamed dumplings and the udon dishes and both were fresh and decent. The 2 guys working this night (Dec. 23) couldn't get it together. Waited forever while the server kept skimming foam off our beer glasses because the keg was dying. Finally 20 minutes in he had it. It started to get busy and they couldn't keep... More

We are visiting New Paltz from Queens, NY, and others are from NJ. We just did a 3-hour hike and we were famished. They sat us at around 4PM and then we started ordering. We were told the kitchen opens at 4:30PM so we had to wait and that was fine with us since it was cold and most of... More

Went there and it did disappoint. I was expecting more basing on the reviews, but other than the fried chicken everything was bland and mediocre for the price. Oh. And they did not have rice, after arriving and waiting for 10-15 minutes ordering Don buri meals, the staff informed us that there was NO RICE. Which was ridiculous since half... More

Fresh locally sourced food, well prepared. Pleasant staff and periodic jazz events in a friendly family setting.

Four of us had a variety of dishes. It was live music night, so the menu was not as extensive as usual. It was mostly soups.... On the positive, the food was quite tasty. But the portions were small. The broth bowls were large, but the protein was tiny. The waitress was 'training'. She got two of our four entrées... More

We were four. Service is way too slow. Two of us were served 25 minutes after and almost five minutes before the other two. Then, was served appetizer at the same time as her dinner. Rice bowls are small and not filling; go for (flavorless) noodle bowls. Miso soup is "weird." Rice bowls and noodle dinners are bland and lack... More

We ate here recently with our 11 year old daughters. The brown rice and salmon, and the dumplings and rice came with miso soup, and were both great. The steamed buns were also as good as I've had anywhere. The owners were very welcoming. A great, healthy, and delicious lunch or dinner option.

Wonderful dining experience. The quality is in the ingredients and the attention to detail is not overlooked! Plenty of vegetarian options mean that I will certainly be returning to Gomen Kudasai again and again.

We stopped in for dinner on a weekday. Gomen-Kudasai is almost hidden away at the end of a strip mall. The menu had choices for all appetites, and we were surprised at how much of the menu came from very local sources. Our waitress was at our table instantly, and knew the menu inside and out. Our food came quickly,... More

We recently got together with friends and went to Gomen Kudasai. We had such good time trying all the hot Japanese food. We loved the edamames and the miso soup! The udon noodle dishes were great. Everything tasted fresh! Ending the night with the green tea and red bean moji hit the spot!

Thank Marissa M
