My family and friends have eaten at Gomen Kudsai many times. My wife and I lived in Japan for 5 years. This is by far the best and most authentic Japanese food we have eaten in the Hudson Valley. The service and atmosphere is great. I have a hard time not ordering the kimchi udon every time I go here.... More

We stumbled into Gomen Kudasai because a family member suggested it. We were enchanted withe the authentic Japanese food, the warm welcoming atmosphere, live entertainment, and prompt service. I had my fave miso spoil which was chock full of tasty greens and tofu. We also had some savory shumai pork and shrimp dumplings. Then we had a sample plate of... More

We made reservations for our party of 3 at 5:45pm on a Saturday night. First off, it is a little difficult to find at night since it's at the end of the strip mall, but just look out for that turn. It seemed empty when we first arrived, although I'm glad we made reservations since the tables around us had... More

I love this place. I don't really want to tell you about it because I never want to have to wait for a seat. But the Soup, Noodles, Rice Bowls are excellent. They have a great Vegan menu too for those friends that don't eat animals. If you are in New Paltz and you like Japanese food, you must go... More

Stopped in for dinner during a weekend trip to the Catskills. Pleasantly surprised with a solid offering of Soba and Udon, along with well executed small plates (selection of pickled items is great). We happened to come on a night with live music, which was a treat. Probably will be the only time listening to two men strum banjos and... More

The food is authentic Japanese. They even pride themselves on offering organic, local and rare Japanese dishes. They offer vegan options, which is incredible, and even their kids' meals are authentic and tasty. I tried their matcha bubble tea with soy milk, and though it was expensive for bubble tea, they use real matcha (not a random powder mix) and... More

We visited this restaurant a few years ago and really enjoyed the food and service. I was so looking forward to our return. The food is delicious and fresh. The portions are a bit small and the prices are much higher now and the service is lacking. Due to a health issue we requested one substitution and the waitress told... More

Been here a few times recently, and it's always delicious. Most recently, I ordered the Tofu Bento Box brunch special and the green tea w/brown rice (forgot its name); my companion ordered the vegetarian spring roll box. Lots of veggie options! Everything was fresh, wholesome, and made with care. Service was charming.

No complaints about quality of soup & noodle. Just a little cheap on the amount of noodle, vegetables, & meat portions. Place cannot compare to those is Brooklyn & NYC. Come on, give a little bit more veggies, meat, and noodles and keep your patrons to return!

I love the food. I go through days of absolute longing for noodles! I love the soba noodle soup and the stir fry. Really delicious salmon as well. And the green tea latte is a great pairing. Yummy!
