After our recent visit to another Adirondack resort area that had less-than-ideal restaurant choices, we were extremely happy with our Friday night dinner at becks. The Yurts that now sit across the way from the main restaurant were built or planned for building before the...pandemic, but came in handy as a way to help enjoy a socially-distanced indoor dinner. The main restaurant also takes great care to ensure Covid protocols (regular cleaning, organized area for to-go) pickup, but if it's a little busy for your comfort, consider the Yurts, which are also quite fun. Ask for Big Mike. Now on to the food! We LOVED the Sauerbraten & Spätzle (see photo). And we also greatly enjoyed the Schnitzel (comes in pork or chicken) -- very light, but filling (see photo). We will absolutely come back on our next visit to the Gore Mountain area!More

We stopped here after a day of skiing. The personnel were friendly, and the beef barley soup was a great starter. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were mediocre. We weren't drinking that night, but the beer options seemed solid.

One of my favorite places to eat I love their German inspired food. I could eat their potato pancakes all day long. Prices are a little steep for the food they serve but its also a tourist town so it makes sense. Atmosphere can be...a little loud but its a cute place.More

fun atmosphere but mediocre food at best. My salad was not good at all, and my husband's meal was ok at best. Server was very nice however.

Beck’s was a great dinner place for us. We LOVED the bacon wrapped scallops. The beet salad was simple yet delicious and the pork schnitzel was tasty as well. They had a great selection of beers and were welcoming and allowed us to hang after...our meal while we had more drinks. Good time at Beck’s.More

After reading Trip Advisor's reviews were were delighted to go and experience Beck's. It took a while to seat us, longer to place a drink order, and a menu order. The waitress was pleasant enough. After 45 minutes, we were finally served, but not before...we were informed that the steak that was ordered was not available. There was no accommodation in the bill for the lesser cut of steak, no return inquiry on whether or not we wanted another beverage. Other tables had two and three beverages on their tables. We got the feeling that we were not as welcome as the locals were.More

We were driving through the Adirondaks after a morning of fishing and happened upon the Beck’s sign out on Route 28. We turned in to what felt like a place out of Bavaria or the Austrian Alps! We sat outside in the sunshine and had...a great lunch. Super friendly staff. Quick service. Great German sausages like bratwurst, weisswurst and venison sausage, pork and chicken schnitzel, asparagus with hollandaise. DO NOT MISS THE HOMEMADE KETCHUP! I’m serious. They make their own ketchup with honey and curry and it’s nothing like Heinz or Hunts. Really great stuff! The homemade Joppiesaus (curried mayonnaise) is excellent too. A chef who puts that much care into his/her sauces shows how much they care about their food. Total find. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. Oh yes, and the Spaten Optimator on tap completes the German experience!More

We had a great time at our first try here last year, however, our experience on 7/19/2020 was out the outset, less than stellar, but salvaged by our excellent waitress and the manager who was on duty. Our two sons were dreaming about eating here...all winter. We started out with sodas that we're mixed properly, but was eventually corrected. The three chicken schnitzel dinners we received were way under-cooked and the hollandaise sauce we ordered with our asparagus was largely chunks of scrambled egg that tasted like hollandaise sauce. My pork schnitzel was cooked perfectly. We returned the three chicken meals and my kids received their back, with even worse hollandaise sauce, just flecks of egg, really. They forgot my wife's chicken. Eventually my wife's chicken arrived and they made fresh hollandaise sauce for all of them. After all of the corrections were made, the meals were perfect, as we had enjoyed them last year. Initially the server offered 25% off the meal and repeatedly apologized, however the manager came over and without prompting simply just offered us the meal at no cost. The server appeared surprised that we intended to stay and have desert, which was also great. We chalked our experience to simply one isolated experience that was made right by the staff, in real time. We all appreciated that. The served received her gratuity based on what the entire meal would have cost, the manager received our thanks and appreciation for what she and the server did to make the meal right and the restaurant has repeat customers and we'll come back there again, next year.More
