The experience started with an odd exchange related to reservations. The place is quite sizable, but the host was impossibly conservative in seating tables. We arrived 20 minutes early to a place that was nowhere near capacity (an understatement) and he spent time considering whether...we could be seated. In fairness, there were just two servers, but also only a half-dozen seated tables (including ours) so it didn’t make sense and, clearly, left a very odd impression.
In any event, the vegetable paella was quite good. The pasta platter and tomato tortellini soup were good. The steak sandwich wasn’t especially notable. The French fries, on the other hand, were notably bad...like, the kids didn’t eat more than one each kind of bad. The garlic bread was just strange. Without the sauce, I wouldn’t have taken another bite. It wasn’t especially tasty and just tasted unhealthy for the sake of being unhealthy...and I was eating garlic bread so I’m not all that health conscious.
The place is very dated, but that kind of made it interesting.More
