Owner moved to Florida, building is up for sale. New upscale Stewart's shop opened up right next door last summer.

We have been by this place many times and one day we figured we would try it....and we are glad we did. The staff was friendly, the pastries were great and the coffee was even better. We went back several times during our week there and enjoyed everything we ate.

Stopped for coffee and a danish. Nice variety of coffees and teas. Pastries are very good. A nice morning place to visit.

I'm a local so was real happy when John opened up a few years ago. Gotta love the mannequin in front of store. Every morning at 4 am, John starts his baking process for turnovers, muffins, cookies, scones and other tasty treats. Every thing is just delicious and he has a really good espresso maker. Pull up a chair, ask... More

We had made a long trip to New York state. We had missed breakfast at the B&B we were staying at. As we were driving along we saw Java John's and had a wonderful cup of coffee - plus some outstanding biscotti. We needed our "caffeine fix" and Java John came to the rescue. He was also very helpful by... More

Very welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for a coffee break and catching up with friends. Also a good stop after a bike ride for a refreshing drink or a quick energy boost with JJ's bakery goods.

all 5 of us. but seriously this is not only northville's best (and only coffee shop), but john is an entertaining barista and baker who puts starbucks to shame. it is a lovely place, the coffee is great and john's pasteries even better. he does all the baking himself. it also serves as an art gallery. nothing but good to... Java John's brought a real coffee shop to Northville. This isn't your chain coffee shop experience. good coffee, pastries and interesting people (locals and visitors) make this the place in the village for coffee. Free wifi also. Credit cards are not accepted.

i've been to java john's many times before, so i know to expect great coffee and a warm welcome. but i made a new discovery: after being beaten to death by a 10 mile bike ride in the hot sun, i came in for a water and an lemonade smoothie. my wife got an iced tea and decided to put... More

Java John's served up perfect coffee, and the cheese Danish was fresh and fabulous. Owner John was fun and generous, very nice to meet, and we had a chance to chat and joke around with a local couple. It was nice to be welcomed so warmly and genuinely.
