My wife and I always visit the Adirondacks in the fall to view the magnificent colors. Three years ago we were treated to dinner at the Owl by my sister and her husband. We were pleasantly surprised at the menu and the wine list which...was more than adequate for a small establishment. We returned this year for our third visit and were not disappointed. Mark met us at the door and led us to our table and filled us in on what has been happening this crazy Covid year. The menu offered diverse choices, but the specials were what caught our attention. My wife had pan seared halibut with a Mandarin orange salsa served over rice with fresh veggies. I opted for the filet mignon with a magnificent peppercorn sauce along with fingerling potatoes and green beans and carrots. Both entrees were done to perfection. We are already looking forward to next year when we hope to return again to the ADK.More

We had a very enjoyable meal. It is not cheap but it is great quality food that was expertly prepared. We felt that restuarant took all COVID19 precautions. The chef does an excellent job

Wow! They really just "get it". Amazing how a very small staff, tightly orchestrated, fluidly moves perfectly executed courses, cocktails, cheques, in this clean and romantic setting. We had an adventurous few days at Garnet Hill/North River, but were seeking something better than the standard...fare and poor service; The Owl at Twilight was the turning point that made a very good week even better. Mark made my husband Old Fashioned cocktail the way it was meant to be made, and I loved the undercurrent Key West theme running subliminally throughout the menu. The menu offers diverse choices - seared scallops, burrata salad were both delicious. The best was the seafood stew - reminiscent of Thai fish stew, without the curry or lime, but beautifully poached sea scallops, shrimp and mussels in spicy coconut broth with sweet bits of corn and pearly rice. The steak au poivre was mouthwatering perfection, as well. Honeycomb vanilla rosemary ice cream for dessert was balanced, made in house, and sweet ending to a perfect evening.More

We had a great time at dinner this week. They are taking all the precautions for Covid, so we felt very safe. We sat on the patio overlooking the garden and it was very pleasant. We had a couple drinks (Mark-Tini and Tortugas Punch) and...the cauliflower appetizer. The ‘Owl’s Tuscan cousin’ was a great entree, although the specials sounded really good too. Chef Sue is fantastic, and even prepared a special dish for a dietary restriction. Service is very professional and warm/friendly - they know how to host a nice, relaxing dinner (and during this pandemic, it was exactly what we needed. Highly recommended!!More

We absolutely adore the Owl...it is the hidden gem of Olmstedville..many fabulous meals, and wonderful memories. We cannot wait until they open for the season! We travel all the way from Staten Island (and stay over night of course) but it is worth the trip...to dine at the Owl with Mark and his wonderful and kind staff! <3More

I had time to swing in for 2 appetizers . The mushrooms and the scallops were both very flavorful and to temp. Very pleased with presentation ❣️

We came back to the Owl for a special music night that was quite nice! Mark runs a great restaurant with fabulous food, drink, service and ambiance. Everyone was having a fun time and enjoying themselves. Cauliflower appetizer and stuffed clams were perfect, the prime...rib and Tuscan chicken were also perfect (and declared ‘best ever’ but one of the party).More

We visited the Owl at Twilight and were pleased with the atmosphere and food, but the service was lacking. We had a very long wait and the waitress and busgirl did not know what they were doing. We will return for the food, but the...owner needs to train the staff.More

Another great season and we had to go to the Owl. A new menu with a new season with lots of great choices. We always find the food, service, and ambiance second to none, and this visit was no exception. They have a great selection...of wines as well as a full bar, so there is truly something for everyone. Definitely worth a trip for a very enjoyable evening!More
