We had breakfast at AJ's two mornings in a row while visiting the Finger Lakes. The food was delicious, the service was good and the tables were spaced for social distancing. Note that they also serve lunch but not dinner.

Went to AJs twice for breakfast during a 3 day stay in the Finger Lakes. Everything was so good. Homemade, excellent quality, super friendly waitstaff. Felt like we were in our Grandma's kitchen. Little gem!

This is a great local breakfast and lunch spot. The staff is friendly and always makes sure your cup is filled. Best Tully Burger around. Highly recommend trying one of the homemade pies!

I go out for breakfast with an older cousin every month or so; this gives his wife a break and we get to talk about the same things every time. Traveling a bit of a ways from home extends his wife's break, so this time, we went to Ovid, to try A.J's as I'd heard good things about it. Well the good things were true! It is a breakfast and lunch place, and their sign says "Family Diner" and it is exactly that. There were three or four tables with what looked to be the local regulars in attendance, along with a young mom and a couple of kids, and a smattering of twos like we were. I chose the breakfast special and had not carefully read the menu, when I ordered the server asked if I wanted the pancakes or the french toast? I thought the special (eggs any style, sausage) and home fries OR pancakes OR French Toast. NOPE, Home fries AND your choice; I chose the French toast, with cinnamon sugar. My cousin chose the pancakes. When we were served we both groaned. He managed to eat about 14 of his two Plate Covering Pancakes, and I ate my special but could not even attempt the home fries. Coffee was plentiful too. The menu is interesting enough that I'll have to return sometime for lunch. Note that their hours change winter and summer, but they are only open for dinner (till 7PM) in the winter on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Otherwise they close at 2PM.

We stopped here at this restaurant for breakfast on our way out of NY state. It was busy. Seems like all the locals like to go for breakfast. Service was quick and food was very good. Portions were large! I couldn't finish.

Everything about AJs was perfect as a go to place for breakfast. Portions are large, food comes out promptly and is cooked perfectly. Lots of choices on the menu and they even have gluten free toast! Service is great. Coffee is delicious and prices are very reasonable. Great find!

All of the locals gather and eat here and I know why. Real down home cooking just like I remember diners to have. The eggs and hash browns were very good and the cheese omelet was done to perfection. Would love to have this restaurant closer to home. Open for breakfast and lunch only but so worth the trip to go here.

AJs, is the Ovid Diner. Right on Main Street across from the Park with its gazebo and the famous Three Bears buildings. This is hometown America! We usually go for breakfast on a week day. There’s always a table or two of old time regulars on coffee break, so the air can get seasoned with some salty language now and then. Sit in the back if that’s a problem. No turkey meats for breakfast here, so the veggie omelet with hash browns is my go to. Just know the portion size is big! Also, note the doughnuts are fresh made! Highly recommend this place.

Exactly what we were looking for!!! It's your typical Main Street breakfast with the basic offering done right. The type of place where the regulars don't need menus, a table of old men and they automatically bring you coffee. The waitress recommended the corned beef hash and even offered a refund if it wasn't the best we've ever had. Took her up on that offer and the hash did not need refunded. I ordered the "small" pancake, but it covered a full plate. I'm guessing the large is the size of a pizza? Good service and friendly atmosphere. They offered a lunch menu as well and the burger special looked good.

AJs is the kind of restaurant you'd expect to find if Mayberry was still around today, and Juanita would be your waitress. A bunch of us went here for lunch last week, and it was almost comical how "retro" this place was. Don't get me wrong...the food was filling and OK. But several of the sandwiches were $2.00/each!!! I haven't seen that in at least 20 years! My Reuben was $5.00, which was good (but one of the more expensive sandwiches on the menu). My colleague ordered the "Disaster," which included a hamburger patty, a sausage, peppers, onions and more...all on a burger bun! All cheap, all tasty (I think). They had an extensive pie & cake display, but we decided against having dessert. This place was great for the price, although not gourmet, and very campy (with the locals). I would go back again.

Stopped here because we like quaint, out of the way places. Our waitress was so friendly and visited with us frequently during our time there. We had lunch and while it wasn't terribly special it was just good, simple food. They were out of their special hot sandwich which was disappointing. The soup and salad bar was adequate with typical salad selections and 2 homemade soups. Wish we would have saved room to try the pies. Certainly a piece of small town America without pretense.

The spinach/feta omelet was made with canned spinach. Not very good. The pancakes and sausage links tasted funny. Service was friendly and place was clean. We would not go back.

Fast, affordable, tasty and clean. This place was a solid four stars. The menu had some interesting choices and the waitress was spot on. The only downside was the fact that we were given the check right after we had received our food. This is a major pet peeve of mine.
