Manager outstanding (Jimmy?). Recommended craft beers and explained various menu selections. Food tasty and hot. Checked on us repeatedly.Sunday night, a little noisy but would definitely return. Priced fairly.

The food and service are quite impressive at this restaurant. However, the prices for wines and food are up there.

I agree with those who find Freelance overpriced ($31 for two very small softshell crabs!), but it is within the range of most upscale restaurants in the NY area. If you feel like a splurge, I definitely recommend this place. As others have noted, it is a very small restaurant and diners usually have to wait for a table. We... More

My family and I were very disappointed with the prices at this restaurant. I felt the need to order an appetizer as my meal in order to save some money. I got the lettuce wraps and they were just average. My father ordered the very expensive lamp chop and thought that it tasted very bland. I tried a piece of... More

The food is splendid. No reservations taken so you want to be there before 6:00 or be prepared to wait an hour, easily. The tuna tartar was perhaps the best I have ever eaten. If you just ate the bread rolls you would leave thinking the restaurant was superb. I had the crab cakes and my wife had pork chop... More

Owned by the corporation that owns Xavier's this place is excellent.. Although the decor is slightly dated, the food makes up for it... The pan roasted shellfish is excellent!! Worth a visit if you're in the area...

A small cozy little place on the Main street in Piermont. Food was excellent. Sat at the bar. Service was great, and food reasonably priced. I only wish it had been summer to enjoy everything the restaurant and the town has to offer.

Eight of us had a lovely prix fixe dinner at the Freelance Cafe on New Year's Eve, and everyone was more than pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. Well worth the price. My husband and I intend to go again soon. We spoke with the personable maitre d' and he explained that the kitchen is separate from Xavier's next... More
