Fairly Small space with typical german beer hall seating (elbow to elbow with strangers which is always an interesting experience :) ) deli counter and various german 'market' items available for purchase. The lunch prices are great and the food is fantastic. They also offer...More

I lived in Rochester for nine months, and whenever I come back to visit—for instance, today—I try to get lunch at the Swan Market (they are not open for dinner). I am German, from the South (but not from Bavaria), and I have never found...More

The jagersnitzel is my favorite dish by far, but you can't go wrong with whatever you order! Be prepared to rub elbows with your neighbors but be delighted with your food! Don't forget to order the bread dumplings and red cabbage! So good!

Really great German food is a very unlikely location (I'm sure the neighborhood used to be very German), but not anymore. It is still safe, but only street parking (that I can tell). Seating is tight, but worth the wait. Get a beer and a...More

Swan Market is a treasure in the city of Rochester. It is an authentic German market/restaurant offering German meals, meat, grocery items and beer!! At the end of the month, German music is also presented. It is a fun place to visit and shop.

We love Swan Market, it is our go to for German food, whether it be full sit down service in their restaurant or take out at their deli counter. Their sampler platters, their sausages, their red cabbage, German potato salad, all of it is amazing....More

Never been to their shop. We have only eaten when they are at festivals. This meal was at the Fairport Octoberfest. Never had a bad meal. We had the smoked bratwurst, sauerkraut, and warm german potato salad.

Amazing lunch again. I had sampler and it was a party in my mouth. There was an unfamiliar currywurst that was amazing with an unusually delicious red sauce. You get a taste if the 4 sides, all of which were amazing, red cabbage, slaetzle, noods...More

Actually, most of the sausage are made of pork not beef. Only a couple are beef.

All of our tables are communal, so you can sit just the two of you and keep to yourselves or chat with the people seated near you and meet some great new friends! It works well for both! Hope you come in soon!!

Description
All meat at Swan Market is hand-cut, all sausage hand-made by owner Barry Fischer, who apprenticed with German master butchers to bring you a taste of Germany that's authentic down to the last detail. Swan's renowned German lunches are served Wednesday through Saturday from 11 to 2. Grab a seat at one of the communal tables and hoist a glass of imported German beer. It's impossible to go away hungry! There's also live German music on the last Thursday and Friday of each month. Wan can also cater events of any size, with anything from cold-cut trays to a full pig roast.
