We ordered a smoked spiral ham for Easter. The people were great to deal with, reconfirmed the order and pickup by text - the ham was moist and flavorful and we really enjoyed it for the most part. I did think that it was a...More

We were driving home from Canada through NY and needed to stop for dinner and gas. We have gone to Saratoga Springs before, but I decided to Google somewhere to eat. It had to be kid friendly and keto friendly. A BBQ place seemed perfect...More

Not the BBQ or tastes you would find south. But I guess for up here ok..... The Meat its self has no real flavor... but I am finding that up here most places that is the case, meat bland any flavor is from the sauces...More

I've been coming very happily to the newer PJ for several years . The bbq wax cooked right-smoked and tender but in the last year I have been twice to order their ribs. They served overcooked ribs with very dry meat. Very disappointing. I'll be...More

Had the salad, trio of sliders and sweet potatoe fries. Salad was fine, and Fries were great but I did not have a lot of appetite after that so only picked at the sliders. They were fairly good. If I go back, will not have...More

Return visit, mid afternoon, only patrons. Ribs were overcooked, dry despite being KC wet vs dry rub. Not very meaty either. Brisket seemed overcooked too. Given how early we were dining, thinking these were previous days left overs. Really surprising, BBQ has been excellent on...More

Stop over on the way up to Lake Placid. Looks like it would be a great place for bbq ribs. Basic place with smaller indoor space for tables, many outside picnic tables. Place seems to be around for awhile. Bottom line: very dry over cooked...More

The food here is very good. My only criticism would be where you get drinks, condiments and utensils it gets very clustered with a ton of people. Would be more efficient if they separated them a bit. The dining room is also very cramped if...More

Pj's is a staple for BBQ in the Saratoga region. I can't say that there is a lot of competition in that category, but it has always been good. We've enjoyed the variety of meats that they have but in different forms. The pulled pork...More

My son and I had the BBQ brisket sandwich. They offer a choice of different types of rolls for the sandwich. The meat was excellent and tasty even without adding one of several choices of sauce. My husband had the beef rib and was not...More

The PJ's BAR-B-QSA story begins in the mid-1960s, when Carolyn and PJ became high school sweethearts in their hometown near Buffalo, NY. They married, graduated together from college and became elementary school teachers. They began a small catering business out of their home and spent their summer vacations doing barbeques and county fairs. Eventually, they bought and operated a seasonal barbeque restaurant, while continuing to teach. They finally stopped teaching to devote their full attention to operating PJ's BAR-B-Q. Over the years, PJ, Carolyn, and their son Johnny added the country's regional barbeque favorites to their menu. They went on several barbeque road trips to make sure they were authentically representing these regional favorites. PJ's BAR-B-QSA now operates year-round, featuring barbeque from Coast to Coast. If you'd like to experience America's time-honored regional barbeque favorites without traveling across the country, you can take "A Taste Tour of American Barbeque" right here at PJ's BAR-B-QSA. Happy Trails!
