The appeal of the OBI is good old fashion cooking and it’s historical charm. In fact it is so popular it is not uncommon to have to wait at the bar for a table. They do not take reservations for smaller parties and it is first come first serve. On this particular evening, our wait was 30 minutes plus since the dance flurry was in town. They have a fully stocked bars and one can order appetizers with your libations while waiting by the cozy fire. Once seated I ordered the prime rib and my fiancé had the short ribs Mac n cheese. He was expecting a side order of Mac and cheese when it is actually an entire pasta dish with short ribs sprinkled through out. Although it was tasty but not well suited for the keto conscious! I had ordered the 12oz prime rib which was plenty filling and delicious! For dessert we decided to split their chocolate Sunday which was enough to feed 4 full mouths!! Service was excellent and left feeling very satiated! Tax tip and Bill was under $80 for two. Enjoy!

Recently my wife and I were in Saratoga Springs, NY and after some research made reservations for dinner at The Olde Bryan Inn. Parking is on the street, and boy, were we glad that we made reservations, as at 6 PM on a Thursday night, the restaurant was packed! Inside, the decor is late 1700's....which I love! The service throughout the night was outstanding! For dinner, I ordered their award winning short rib poutine as an appetizer at $18.00 and my wife ordered their French onion soup at $6.75. Both were excellent, but my appetizer was so large is could easily have been an entree in itself. For dinner, I ordered their fried chicken at $20 and my wife ordered their salmon salad at $19.00. Again, both were excellent. I actually thought she had made a mistake in ordering the salad, as too often salmon ordered in areas not known for local salmon comes out old & over cooked, but her salad was perfect! We loved everything about the Olde Bryan Inn from the atmosphere to the service to the food, and would Highly Recommend it to anyone!

The restaurant was quite rustic, and cozy for a wintertime gathering. Selection of menu items was well balanced with traditional dishes and selections normally found locally. However, based on our experience, the food was pretty much mediocre and a bit high priced.

We are locals who haven't visited this restaurant in a long time so we decided on a Wednesday to give it a try for dinner. It was busy but we were immediately seated by a very nice hostess. The building itself is beautiful with great ambiance, however, our server Lauren needs remedial education. After ordering, our salads came fairly quickly, but despite promising twice to bring us rolls, they never came. My husband ordered an appetizer....it never came. Water was not replenished (it was all I was drinking), the prime rib sandwich was awful, my husbands 16 oz prime rib was lukewarm and the green beans inedible. He ordered butter on his baked potato and it was omitted and the rolls were cold and very mediocre. We sat forever after finishing our meal before Lauren cleared. The manager delivered our meals and was told about the appetizer and rolls and was very indifferent. We were very disappointed. My husband was in the restaurant industry for years and I have never seen him tip 10% before for service, it was that bad.

Stopped through the Olde Bryan Inn on my one-day visit to Saratoga. The value of this restaurant is really in the historically preserved building. The restaurant is a portal to a bygone age, with the preservation of the Inn being undertaken with obvious care. The food itself was mostly a miss in my experience. The beef barley soup of the day was a bit oily and some of the ingredients felt overcooked. Had the same flavor profile as canned Progresso Beef Barley if I'm being completely honest. The "spicy" chicken sandwich was well fried, but seemed like the breading was not seasoned to make it "spicy." In addition the sandwich was served to me without the "ghost pepper cheese." As such, I was disappointed by this menu option as well. Service was great (especially given COVID-19) and beer selection was also good with some local breweries being highlighted. Options for takeout, patio dining, and indoor dining with social distancing and masks required. I'd say stop by for the setting alone, maybe other menu items are better than what I experienced.

A friend and I went for an overnight get-a-way and decided on The Olde Bryan Inn for dinner. We sat in the bar area and enjoyed the cozy fire and delcious homemade Saratoga Pub Chips. I had the ahi tuna appetizer and it was fresh and delicious and was presented beautifully. I ordered the steak au poivre (rare) as my main entree that was cooked to prefection! The side of green beans were cooked al dente and were extremely fresh! My friend ordered the fish and chips and he was very pleased with his meal. The fish was tender and moist and the breading was light and crunchy! Overall, the service was amazing. Corinne was our server and she was attentive and outstanding in every way; even when it started to get quite busy! The atmosphere was a perfect as the food and service! I loved the old wide beams and stone walls! I will definitely be returning to TheOlde Bryan Inn on my next trip to Saratoga!

My first visit to OBI was one of those rare restaurant experiences that you always hope for but rarely find: top tier ambiance, food, drink, and people. Starting with spontaneous banter with owner Sully when I came in, and bartender (I forget her name 😔), through generous drinks and delicious entree, and non-intrusive interaction with Sully and General Manager Ed when they worked the room. Made me feel a valued guest who will be welcomed back. I enjoyed the baked haddock with rock shrimp scampi, a generous filet of haddock and lots of shrimp served over a generous but not excessive portion of wild rice, napped with a tasty wine and herb sauce. Side was fresh green beans cooked crisp/tender. Presentation was attractive, food was served hot, and most important, the sauce was delicious! The restaurant decor is pleasant with white-tablecloth ambiance but not formal feeling. Olde Bryan Inn is added to the short list of restaurants that I will return to again and again to eat my way through the menu. No need to find another when I pass through Saratoga Springs.

My Wife and I have been attending the races in Saratoga for the past 30 years; last year was the only exception due to covid. The OBI has been a favorite restaurant in town and is always a must stop. We usually bring our friends with us or recommend to others to stop in at OBI. We stopped in last week after the races for a few beers and to have their fabulous French Onion Soup. As always, the soup was outstanding and the beer fresh and cold. However, what was not expected was the greeting from our bartender (Corey). The first thing he said to us was "Are you Eating"? I thought that was strange. Maybe he wanted to make sure we were spending enough money to justify taking a bar seat? I also noticed how nice he was treating the other customers and even buying their drinks, while ignoring us. As out of towners, we were made to feel very unwelcome, although we thoroughly enjoyed talking to the other patrons. When we were ready to leave, I also had to wave him down for the tab, as he continued to ignore us. When we received the tab, I noticed what seemed to be an overcharge for the beer to his attention as politely as possible. He just said it was right and asked if I wanted to check his cash register? After some back and forth, he finally acknowledged that each beer was Six dollars. Six dollars for a Miller Light draft!! We won't let one bad experience and a rude bartender skew our opinion of the OBI. We'll probably return in the near future to this traditionally great spot and get our favorite French Onion soup or full meal. but hold the MILLER LIGHT !!

A visit met very high expectations. Manager Ed and bartender and server Kayla were welcoming, and service was friendly and efficient. The menu and daily specials offered many tempting, unique dishes, and the house honey salad dressing is recommended without reservation. Cocktails are generous. Both regulars and visitors dining at the bar were positive and enjoying their meals and the ambiance. Stopped over in Saratoga Springs for the express purpose of dining here, and was not disappointed. Ed is what every restauranteur should be: engaged with his guests and staff, working non-stop to ensure that things are running smoothly, and attentive to ensuring that the guests enjoy their experience at his restaurant. I will surely return again!

Went here for dinner with my daughters to celebrate my 50th b-day. Made reservations bc of covid-19, they were very accommodating. We sat outside on the porch. Atmosphere was beautiful and servers were attentive. Food was delicious and the portions were huge (with the exception of the mozzarella sticks-$11/4 sticks). We all went home with boxes. Restaurant did a fantastic job of social distancing; it felt like we had our own special corner of the world. Will revisit the next time we visit Saratoga Springs.

As "locals", husband and I always look forward to returning here. The ambience of the historic building, the sincerity of the staff and the menu selections have never disappointed. Owner Steve Sullivan ("Sully") is always behind the scenes and runs a smooth running business. The positive attitude that his staff shows mimics his respect and appreciation of them. Our reservation for a booth at 8pm on a summer season Sunday night was totally honored! Fresh warm rolls and soft butter served almost immediately. Husband's French fries (served with his tender delicious roast beef sandwich), were delicious, warm and crispy! Please note the words: promptly seated; warm rolls, soft butter and warm crispy French fries!!)....all of this after 8 pm on a Sunday night in Saratoga!! (I should have started this review with my often repeated comment that when our meal is finished here and the dessert menu is offered, I should remember that on my next visit to the OBI to order dessert first!.) Seriously, a fantastic, varied menu sure to please all.

We had lunch recently after a decade-long absence and this place is as good as ever. It was always consistently good and still is. I ordered the fish and chips (even though my policy is usually 'beer batter or bust). The Old Bryan Inn's version is soaked in buttermilk and floured and the coating was slightly herbaceous and crisp, a little like fried chicken coating. The haddock was piping hot, moist, and served with a mousse-like tartar sauce on the side that complimented the fish nicely. The Coleslaw and fries were good, too. The grilled French onion prime rib sandwich was delicious served on a toasted baguette. The amount of meat and melted provolone was very generous. A wonderful touch was the dipping sauce: a bowl of the base of the Inn's famous French onion soup for dipping, which made a delicious sandwich even better. The hostess was very pleasant and our waiter, Zephyr, was wonderfully attentive and cheerful, and he made our time there more enjoyable.

We meet twice a year in Saratoga with two of our best friends and the Olde Bryan Inn is always our destination for a mid-afternoon cocktail hour and hors-d'oeuvres. We always sit at one of the raised tables in the bar area because of the old world feel, the wood fireplace, and the 'Leda and the Swan' painting from Greek Mythology over the fireplace. It's all about the ambiance of this special gathering place from the smells of the fireplace to the beer steins hanging from the ceiling to the attentive staff, the Olde Bryan Inn does it for the four of us.....the food is also very good. We usually choose from their generous selection of bar bites. I recommend the Calamari and the Asian Chicken Chili Bites. Between their specialty cocktails, their wine and bourbon and scotch selections, they have all the bases covered, not to mention OBI's storied history dating back to the Revolutionary War.

Many years ago we used to alternate between OBI and Lillian’s. (IYKYK!!) We found ourselves back in the area for a couple of hours and with Lillian’s out of the picture we visited OBI. There is just something about this place that captivates me. The building is historical and fascinating and lovely! We were seated near the fireplace and had Courtney as our server. They were fabulous! It was early so we had water only so cannot attest to the drinks. We ordered the iconic French onion soup, Caesar salad, warm spinach salad, and roast beef sandwich special. The food was delish. The roast beef sandwich was served with a delicious deli salad. I think if I were to nitpick anything it would be the pricing of the Caesar salad. The salad was delicious albeit on the small side, but it was the same price ($16) as the expertly crafted special. I wondered if I had received the “small” salad by accident but was too embarrassed to ask. I just don’t know how a small bowl of lettuce can cost $16 but it is what it is and no regrets! The OBI continues to hold a place in my heart. Thanks OBI!

My mother's birthday lunch on 3/8. We got there at noon. Service was prompt. Great Menu options. I had a cup if chili delicious with a little bite of heat. I had the fish and chips it was delicious the only drawback to the meal was the tartar sauce. A. Bit too mayonaisse, would have liked a bit more tartness. The whole table loved to here meals. Portions were perfect. I have eaten there many times and the OBI keeps putting out great meals. Samantha was our server. Outstanding job by her. This is a go to place in Saratoga Springs
