An exceptional and magical dining experience. We celebrated our 25th anniversary here and it couldn't have been any better. The place is tucked away, and it's like you've found a secret hideaway when you arrive. The fire was crackling and the lights were dim. The staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel special.... More

My family and I enjoyed our visit to the Deer Mountain Inn. The location (perched above Tannersville in Onteora Park) is magical, with commanding views of the Catskills. The restaurant itself is a historic mountain home with a comfortable atmosphere and a touch of modernity. The cocktail menu is straight out of Brooklyn (in a good way), and there's a... More

Atmosphere is wonderful and the menu is always unique and very well-prepared. Prix fixe dinner is usually very tasty, but overpriced.

A night at Deer Mountain Inn always feels special. It's a beautiful old wooden inn on the side of a mountain. The bar is tucked in back, elegant, dark, with a big stone fireplace and vintage leather seating. I feel transported as soon as I walk in. The highlight, though, is the bartender, Darren. He makes every cocktail with exquisite... More

I came here with my family twice in the last month. The service is average. The food is ok. The attitude of the hostess and staff is sometimes not nice. The prices are high for the food, which I think is not great. I would not recommend. They do not seem to like families or at least kids.

From the moment we arrived our group of 6 felt very welcomed. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendations were on point. Although an upscale restaurant, the vibe is not pretentious because of the tone the employees set and the coziness that is transmitted through the decor and the dark wood detail. Everyone in my group was... More

We loved our two dinners here, limited menu but enough choices to satisfy each of us. We thought the prices also reasonable, the service delightful; we live not too far away yet still plan to come and stay some time; love that there are Nespresso coffee makers by the bedrooms upstairs. Well worth a detour or visit!

My friend and I were driving around the Catskill and stumbled upon this very cozy Inn just by chance. We only stayed for a coffee and a hot chocolate but the atmosphere was great with the fire burning the and the lights turned it make out visit short but sweet. The staff were really friendly and made every effort to... More

We'd heard a lot of great things about the Deer Mountain Inn, so made sure to pop in for dinner during our recent trip to the Catskill Mountains. Located close to Hunter Mountain, this Inn is super picturesque. The minute you walk in, you feel like you've entered a quirky, fun and dare I say romantic hipster lodge. The cocktail... More

Let me start by saying that we visited the Deer Mountain Inn last year and, while a bit expensive, it was lovely. Beautiful, quiet, great food. This year I was thoroughly disappointed. First, and PAY ATTENTION, they ask you if you'd like bottled, sparkling, or tap water. I said bottled because I use a brita at home. What they don't... More

Hi Magen, Thank you for visiting Deer Mountain Inn. I’d like to personally apologize for failing in our mission to provide a great experience for all who visit. We take all customer feedback very seriously and appreciate your comments. I agree completely that our bottled water is a little overpriced. I realize we cannot always pass the added expense associated... More
