We were only the 4th table of patrons in the restaurant. I wanted the mushrooms; they ran out. I ordered the lamb shank; the waiter said it was also not available. We started with the mussels and they were slimy. I ordered the ribs off the prix fixed but paid 26 dollars for it ala cart, which was more expensive... More

Atmosphere is great and reminiscent of the taverns of the early 20th century. The pictures which adorn the walls almost seem to speak to you of yesterday. Chris is an outstanding mixologist taking everything I stride. Great food as well. Well worth a visit

Food and service were good. Atmosphere was cozy. I had spent the day traveling and this was a nice place to unwind with a glass of wine and some appetizers.

Just got back from a lovely lunch here with my neighbor. Hidden in the basement of an historical estate, this beautiful space is comfortable and elegant at the same time. A wood fireplace warmly greets you, and copper ceiling tiles remind you that you're someplace special. We both had onion soup and split a grilled chicken sandwich. It was generously... More

I live in the area and have eaten in the Cellar many times. I get excited when I'm walking down the stairs because I KNOW I'm in for a real treat. Excellent food, drinks and service is the norm here. Try the fish stew or the lamb shank (and everything else on the menu)! Leave room for the butterscotch pudding,... More

This restaurant is housed in an old, impressive mansion with history (think Revolutionary War anecdotes), but in the dark, atmospheric basement down some steep stairs. The food is quite good but heavy -- substantial salads, nicely-done steaks, hams, etc. -- and the prices high. The service varies: the first time, the waiter was attentive; the second time, the waiter was... More

The service here was not good as well as the quality of the food. Atmosphere was very quiet as there were not many people. Extremely over priced.

I have been here during a business trip - I take advantage of the restaurant few times - the food is good , the service good and the prize appropriate.
