We had lunch for 8 of us - the café is quite old and quaint!! Our waitress was super nice - helped my vegan daughter find options to eat - chef was very accommodating!! Had a small wait to be seated, but it wasn't bad! Grill cheese was fabulous!!! Lots of veggies on it - very different!!!

Our husbands were away so a dear friend & I went for dinner. We were not disappointed. Very nice dinner selections: scallops, sea bass, pork, steak, etc. if you are on a gluten free diet, several selections for you. The appetizers are enticing, and several also gluten free. The desserts are to die for. Wine list is good, sorry did... More

I was here for lunch today as I was in the area. I have the smoked panini, and it was fantastic! I also enjoyed their take on potato salad, not what I am used to, but good nonetheless! The staff here is very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is quaint and cozy.

The Illium Café was the biggest surprise on our short weekend trip to visit our son at RPI in Troy. The food was simply magnificent! Marla and her team create masterpiece dishes out of locally available produce, meat, and fish. The pan-seared scallops on a bed of mushroom risotto was better than anything we've eaten in Paris, and the duck... More

A great place to enjoy breakfast or brunch. A little pricey but the servings are large and original, the setting is unique and comfortable and the staff are friendly and attentive.

Back in Troy for family weekend at RPI and my son suggested we have breakfast at the Illium. Funky ground floor space in front of the war memorial and a stone's throw from the Hudson. Service and food was very good. I had the redundantly named Smoked salmon and lox bagel sandwich. My son is a fan of the pulled... More

Quaint and homey feel with very good food. Service was very capable during lunchtime rush hour. Enjoyed the Waldorf Chicken Salad Wrap with cole slaw side...very good. We did not feel rushed and we were thoroughly enchanted. The only downside is parking in downtown Troy is difficult.

The service, food and presentation were second to none. I will return to Illium, my only regret is that it's in Troy. It was a fantastic find. The chicken waldoff wrap was delicious. The perfect blending of ingredients. Another person at my table ordered the soft shell crab with potato chip, it too was beautiful. I sampled a bit of... More
