I'm usually a vegetarian but enjoyed sampling the selection of seafood on the set menu here. The food was great (the best we had in Zanzibar), and the setting absolutely lovely.

We went to the Emerson mid-afternoon for a late lunch following a recommendation. We did not eat on the roof top terrace but in a 'secret' garden tucked away at the back of the hotel. The service, food and experience was excellent.
