We arrived late for the restaurant in the hotel where we were staying and we wanted something light for dinner. Taj Mahal was good because we ordered a grilled chicken meal, which came with salads (usual way restaurant meals are served in Israel) and a grilled eggplant with tahine sauce. The food was just ok but the open atmosphere was... More

We sponsored a family lunch for 23 adults and 4 children after a visit to nearby Masada. The service was excellent and the food was very good. There were enough meal choices so everyone could find something they liked, event those who are "semi-kosher". Just understand that seating is on low cushions so elderly people may have a little difficulty,... More

Cozy restaurant, quite cold in winter. One of the very few choices in Ein Bokek, apart from hotel restaurants. We had a vegetarian meal with hummus, falafel, eggplant, and tahini. Tasty but no different from what you can get on the streets of Jerusalem for half the price.

We were on our way back to Tel Aviv but needed some lunch. So we went to 'Taj Mahal', a strange name for a restaurant offering Israeli food. We entered and got a table - but everything was sooooooo dirty, the table, the seats...We asked the waiter to clean and received nothing but a surprised glance. Only when we repeated... More

Humus was a disaster! Dishes went out of the kitchen at different time and long waiting. Atmosphere is nice but no more than that

First off the design and atmosphere is amazing, lovely comfortable seating you can sit there for a while and have a great time. The food was very good, we got a mixed big platter - all kinds of salads and dips, then meat, chicken and some other sort of skewers. You can get hookah, and great drinks - the arak... More

Welcomed with a great smile and a promise that we will enjoy the food. It is built as a "beduiin desert tent" with appropriate decor. I recommend the mixed grill plater which is composed of a variety of Israeli salads and a mixed fare of meats on skewers and spicy Moroccan sausages and kebabs. We also enjoyed grilled tender lamb... This place is awesome. I highly recommend that you stop by, or even drive out of your way to eat here. I went for lunch the other day and the atmosphere was incredible. On a beautiful Israeli day the place was cool and very relaxing. The food was plenty and tasted amazing. But best of all, the staff and owner... More
