This restaurant is halfway down the steep hill into the church square. Starting menu is 17 Euros (Dec 2016). The food is good but a little overpriced compared to the surrounding area - & the wine starts at about 20 euros per bottle - no house wine available. Arguably its because its situated in the heart of a tourist trap.... More

We came to this restaurant last year when we first visited St Emilion and loved it so much we had to come back! It was to the same high standard as before and the duck was cooked perfectly! We chose a bottle of the local wine which didn't disappoint and was very reasonable. The one thing you have to be... More

We chose this restaurant as the menu seemed good value (€17.50 for three courses). We were ushered in and downstairs to a damp smelling basement by a very grumpy man and to be honest we almost walked out. The waiter/owner was incredibly brusque, and dripping with sweat which was more than a bit off-putting. We barely told him our order... More

tucked away down a little cobbled street in the heart of Saint Emillion. We arrived without a reservation but had no problem getting a table. We sat outside on the small balcony. We found the waitress friendly (we do speak french so it helps). The meal was a 3 course meal which was a set menu. The wine menu was... More

Found this place after walking around for ages! The road to the restaurant is very steep and in the rain I would think lethal so take care! But we negotiated this and had the 27€ set menu, which in Saint Emilion is good value, we had the Foie Gras and steaks, with a nice bottle of 2010 Red, all very... More

The courtyard is in cobbles so all the spills fall to the poor person at the bottom of the table, plus they operate a service area system so only the one waitress who works your area is allowed to serve you. Food was average at best. Nice view of the crypt though and central.

It was clear the fact we spoke English and very little French was our downfall. It took 20 minutes to even have our drinks order taken after arrival, we were constantly ignored when signalling to the waiters while they cleaned dirty tables and set places for dinner while it was still lunch. We were given no cutlery with our main... More

We had a lovely dinner. We chose the set menu. The fois gras was exceptional. The wine list was not at all vast and bottles started at €50. Not the type of place to spend so much on wine as it is not a winery and does not have a view. The fillet was cooked to my liking but the... More

We have been travelling for a long time and enjoying too much food so we're looking for a simple meal. We were delighted with La Cote as the fish of the day was delicious and came with lovely vegetables. Our only complaint is we were wanting a white wine and there were only 2 choices. One at 21€ and one... More

Description
Located near the monolithic church and the Office de Tourisme, it is a must-see in Saint-Emilion. Passing through a very steep street that a charming small terrace dominates, the restaurant La Côte Braisée offers you a very pleasant place to eat, in a monolith room with contemporary furniture. Here you can taste the regional specialties such as duck roast stuffed with foie gras and grapes or the famous rib of beef grilled for two person’s with its candied shallots. A very good table with affordable prices, a wine cellar with old vintages and a charming welcome. You can also sit at the bar just opposite the Côte Braisée at l'Absolu for a glass of wine accompanied by tapas in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
