We stopped here for lunch on a visit to Paimpol . Many restaurants along the harbour to choose from all with similar but varying menus . Definitely all great locations to enjoy all sorts of fish and seafood and all very busy . This place caught our fancy . We were promptly seated on the patio . Pleasant place to... More

Had lunch here with my husband and a friend. One of many attractive restaurants on the quay with outside seating overlooking the old harbour mostly now used as a marina. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. My husband and friend had the fruit de mer and said it was one of the best they'd had. That was 58 euros for 2 persons.... More

The food was amazing, from the huitres to the scallops and abalone. Very affordable for the excellent quality and presentation. A music festival was underway all along the port which was a bonus!

Good harbour side restaurant and very popular. Well presented and tasty food. Range of menu options but no specials so the menu remains the same each week.

We stayed four nights in Paimpol, ate here twice and were impressed on both occasions. The service is attentive, helpful and on occasion humorous - you can try your French but their English is excellent. On the first occasion we went for one of the set menus - oysters, haddock which was beautifully served and delicious, dessert and a bottle... More

We went here for dinner and were delighted by the food and the service. The menu was also available in English, which was helpful as my rusty french would not have recognised all of the choices. The service was really good and friendly, our food was excellent, I really to recommend that you try the gallette with creamed leeks and... More

We'd done too much walking and found the more upmarket restaurants had finished serving so we were glad to discover this 'open all hours' bistro. Galette complet came with ham, cheese, mushrooms and fried egg and small salad (@7euros) and one bowl of frites extra between us was really tasty. We added a pichet of cider (also 7 euros) and... Four of us dined here based on the TripAdvisor rating. Service was friendly but a little slow although they were pretty busy. The choice of starters was a little limited which was a shame. The scallops main dish chosen by three of us was good but the Plateau de Fruits de Mer disappointing. The offer was Spider Crab or Normal... More

We were recently on holiday in a village close to Paimpol. We have visited L'Islandais several times over a period of 9 years and always had a good lunch there. Our first recent visit was the day after the market day in Paimpol and though some venues were closed L'Islandais was busy and we received a warm welcome before being... More

Description
Full of history, l'Islandais features a traditional cuisine elaborated by our chef Yves-Marie in very different maritime universes. Galettes, crêpes, sirloin steaks, seafood, gourmet salad... Coffee break, gourmet break facing the boats of the port any hour of the day. Meals are served on the terrace with a view on the port or in the dining-room in a maritime atmosphere. Séverine is happy to welcome you every afternoon and offers a simplified menu around a tasty Breton beer from the Philomenn house.
