The Food is excellent, tasty Curry pies, and Bee Sting slice, They also support Community Groups , at present Selling Lions Christmas and Fruit Cakes. Staff were friendly and also very busy.

Poor attitudes

I travel a bit for work and often visit coffee shops and bakeries, I have visited the hot and crusty bakery quite a few times, today was the absolute most appalling experience. I request a flat white as I do not like froth. the last...few times I have received the equivalent of a cappuccino, so I requested to ensure it was a flat white the woman that served me contained herself however she appeared annoyed with my request, then the woman making the coffee read my order wrong then got attitude with me because I wanted what I ordered. Not once did I have attitude not once did I swear, yell or otherwise cause a scene. Will not return even though the coffee tastes nice 👍🏻More

Great place for morning tea

Great coffee, bread & pastry products and sweet treats. The bee-sting was amazing. Good coffee. A bit off-putting having to queue for service - quite impersonal. The interior leaves a bit to be desired - no atmosphere, the floor looked like it needed a good...scrub but all made up for with the delicious food.More

A must visit to new and much larger premises

Today. Tuesday 25th January 2022. Hot & Crusty saw the opening into new, exciting and much larger premises at 180 Barker Street Castlemaine Victoria. Providing the very well patronised bakery with the option for sit down meals, as well as takeaway.

Excellent service, best coffee in town

Love the food and coffee here. Reasonably priced and usually not too long of a wait. My kids love the milkshakes

Fabulous bakery.

Seniors Festival day out

We travelled over to Castlemaine to see James Blundell at the Town Hall. Went to the Hot and Crusty Country Bakery for lunch before the show. It was very busy when we were there. The staff were friendly and the food was well worth the...wait. well done, we will be back again..More

Lunch

Always on the look out for a bakery and the Hot and Crusty Country Bakery was excellent. Great service and the food was fresh and yummy. Hubby's pie was hot and fresh. I had a roll which was awesome. We would certainly go to this...bakery again.More

Tasty pies

We found this little bakery by chance. All four of us had a different pie 🥧 and all four were delicious. Prawn 🦐 and garlic. Curry. Chicken and vegetables. Chicken and honey 🍯 mustard. Would recommend to other pie lovers.

Cup weekend

Had a pie but had trouble eating it as the filling was too runny and I made a real mess. The flavoure was nice.

Excellant Pastie

Staying overnight in Castlemaine only wanted small lunch, ordered meat + vegy pastie and wife ordered apple scroll. Pastie was very full with good flavor,scroll was very fresh with lots of apple. Would go back.

Great selection of food

Their selection of tasty food changes regularly and staff are attentive to customers even when queues are long. Introducing coffee to go with take away food was a great idea
