My husband and I recently ate at the Painted Fish Cafe when we were staying in Banner Elk. We both ordered the filet mignon and it was delicious. The bread served with it.......delicious too! It's on the outer edge of town which is still close to everything else - worth looking for.

It's a cute place with all sorts of painted fish all over. Trout and grits were delicious. The Apple crisp with oatmeal crumbles was just like gramma used to make. Next time I will get the ice cream on too. Chairs needed updating.

Husband had sliders and I had an item not on the menu – it was french fries on the bottom then barbecued pork next came cole slaw topped with ranch dressing and if you wanted sariachi sauce ( I did not use the hot sauce) It was awesome and I would definitely have it if I went there again –... We ate here by default because the other restaurant was closed . They did have a good dinner special for a very reasonable price including dessert . The fried chicken was crispy and delicious. They seated us outside and basically forgot about us . It got dark and they never turned on lights for us . Our waitress would disappear... More

Casual "go to" place for us! We eat here at least once a week in the summer. Friendly, casual dining with outdoor seating. Good variety on the menu. The trout is delicious and so is the fried chicken! Salads are great too, everything is!

Calamari was good but we have had a lot better in Blowing Rock. Dipping sauces were excellent but very skimpy serving amount. A seafood restaurant theme but many other options available. The server recommended the fried chicken special. We also had a good bottle of wine. Way too pricey for what you get. $90 for two ? Server was very... More

The food is good......I just love the sushi grade tuna dinner......BUT don't expect to dine there. There are no table cloths and paper napkins with almost fine dining prices. Your dinner is brought to your table about two minutes after your drink (which, by the way, they charge $10 for a Bloody Mary with probably very little vodka in it.)... More

We have eaten at the Restraunt on several occasions. The meals have been great. Not cheap but reasonably priced.

This restaurant came highly recommended by friends of ours, and they were absolutely right, this place is wonderful!!! This restaurant creates the perfect atmosphere of being upscale while also being very comfortable. The interior is spread out in several different areas which makes for a quiet and enjoyable dining experience. Our server, Tiffany, was very professional and provided exceptional service.... More
