This is our third time dining at Gideon Ridge and each time just gets better! We typically come to Blowing Rock on a kid-free getaway once each winter and always try to make Gideon Ridge one of our stops. Last year's visit, our service wasn't very good, but we wanted to give it another try since the food and view... More

The only positive thing I can say about the restaurant at Gideon Ridge is the view. Our wait staff was not familiar with the menu. Wait staff also appeared to be unclean. We did not feel welcomed there. We had to seat ourselves. Dining area was a mixture of several different decor styles. I ordered duck and my husband had... More

First the positives. The place seems to be situated in what was once a beautiful private home with a rather stunning view. This restaurant is medium size at best, so reservations are a must......especially during the spring and summer when outside dining is available. The food is also top notch. However, there are better meals to be had close by... More

Had dinner here for our anniversary. Definitely one of, if not the, best places in the High Country in terms of atmosphere, view, coziness, romance, and charm. The food and service were very good, and on par with what you would expect for the prices. The most interesting and creative dish we ordered was the golden milk panna cotta for... More

My husband and I are self proclaimed foodies and we absolutely loved this place! Every course was divine, but the star of the show was the duck. Wow! This is definitely and adult only dining experience. The food and atmosphere are sophisticated and you will not find chicken tenders and fries on the menu.

We went to the Gideon Ridge Restaurant for my husband's birthday. We eat out a lot and the food at the Gideon Ridge was the best I have had in five years. I started with a lentil soup flavored with cumin. It was so good I could have skipped the entree and just had more. I then had the snapper... More

My husband and I stayed at the Inn that the restaurant is in and were hoping to eat there. After making our inn reservation, I noticed that the restaurant is not open Monday nights. I was super disappointed but made a reservation at a sister restaurant. When we checked into the Inn, they advised they were going to be open... More

I made our reservation based on reviews but wow did this restaurant exceed our expectations! I will say it is up a curvy, mountainous road--short (less than .25 mile) but still wasn't prepared--that feels like you are in a neighborhood. When you arrive, it's this beautiful place overlooking the mountains--the staff quickly greets you and welcomes you inside. There's an... More

We really looked forward to this visit, making our reservation the week before we arrived in Blowing Rock, based on Trip Advisor reviews, but it was a disappointing experience. I had the Butternut Squash Salad and my husband had the Farmers Salad. Both were excellent, but for a $12 salad, they should be. We both got the Pork Loin for... More
