This is a lovely bare-brick walls restaurant with a retro diner decor. Our friends had delicious veggie burgers made in house along with fries and a creamy coleslaw. My wife started out with a tomato with basil soup that was superb. It's hard to please her with soups, but she loved this one. We both had the red beans and... More

Came here with my husband for brunch, and couldn't have been happier! Gotta love a place that serves breakfast all day! And a delicious breakfast at that.

High energy. Busting place. I ordered the smoked salmon omelet. Delish!! Lot of gluten free and vegetarian options. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. 20 minute wait but service was pretty quick once we were seated. Would definitely come back. YUMM !!

Lots of comfort food and various options. It's a cute little diner that fits the stereotype of Carrboro. I usually come here for brunch but their lunch and dinner options seem really good too! My mom loves the santa fe bowl.

I can't comment on entries because I got a 4 veggie platter, but the veggies were quite tasty, especially the cabbage and the mashed potatoes. This is a great place to go for comfort food and a casual atmosphere.

Elmo's is located in a busy shopping center, and is very busy itself. The menu is expansive with many great options. I settled on the meatloaf, which was as good as any I've ever had. The atmosphere was lively and the waitress was very helpful and quick with refills. Great place for dinner.

Let's face it. Elmo's is a popular and very busy institution in the UNC-Chapel Hill-Carrboro community. Also it's a diner. Even so, the food is good and overall it's an enjoyable experience. There's literally something on the menu for everyone, including all day breakfast. When we visited in December, it wasn't cold so we sat in the sheltered patio. I... More

I've been to Elmo's multiple times and am always surprised when I see how busy it is. The food is fine but is just average diner food. There are much better options in Carrboro. The service is good and the space charming but the food is just not worth the wait for a table in my opinion.

Elmo's has a good variety of home cooked food. Breakfast is my favorite with their tasty pancakes. Lunch has nice variety of burgers and sandwiches.

We have had breakfast and dinner items. The breakfast items were good, the meatloaf very good. Fresh fruit offered as a side was fresh, generous and no canned fruit in sight! We made the mistake of accepting a seat in a "tented" area with heaters in the winter. I was sitting in the corner where the tent panels should have... More

Like a true diner, we serve homemade food and breakfast all the time. We have comfy booths, as well as tables, and lots of high chairs and boosters for the little ones! We are a gathering place where locals are sure to see someone they know and visitors are likely to make new friends. We’re a community restaurant both in the sense that we are a local favorite and in the sense that we strive to be good neighbors and give back to our community
