This is great, reasonably-priced food! They specialize in fresh vegetables, which are often innovatively prepared without being too fancy. We sometimes take out-of-towners there, because it is such a relaxing place to visit and the service is wonderful. And you get to help a good...More

The King’s Kitchen was recommended by a friend from Charlotte. We did not have reservations for dinner Saturday evening before the ACC Championship Game. The city was crowded and they were already booked for reservations. When I called they were very courteous and stated that...More

Place sucks, you’ve been warned. Friday night 8pm and they claim they’ve run out of fried chicken, cornbread and mashed potatoes. Sure. Then we see fried chicken being served. We ask, told they took off menu to ensure a large group could order and now...More

The food was amazing. The atmosphere is great. The mission of the restaurant is the best of all. The chicken sandwich was so good. My friends ordered the gumbo and panini. All was good, no complaints at all. But, like I said the mission is...More

I had a cup of gumbo (I was raised in New Orleans) and it was pretty good, lots of flavor, the rice was under cooked and so was the roux but not a deal breaker. Fried chicken for my entree...very light and crispy, asked for...More

Good southern cooking (we had the meat and 3: pot roast, mashed potatoes, mac&cheese, collards w/ a biscuit, and fried chicken, mac&cheese, black eyed peas, collards w/ corn bread), big portions, reasonable prices, quick service, and non-profit. All proceeds go toward feeding the homeless, and...More

My 3 star rating is an average of several different factors. This was a business dinner, reservations with a large group. The decor of the restaurant is very nice, but my first thought upon walking in was 'this is a non-profit restaurant?!?" I have been...More
