Our family with two teenagers have tried Phil's Deli several times and as recent as yesterday we dropped in for lunch after leaving Fresh Market next door. We ordered the turkey rueben, roast beef with au jus and warm roast sandwich. All of which were just average. They were out of tea which I thought was odd. The Cole slaw... More

Phil's has been around for a long time and is the only "Jewish" Deli around Charlotte. (Not kosher, but still falls into the category of a N.Y. Jewish Deli). My only wish is that they would update the interior a bit -- not critical, but it would make the experience a bit nicer. Also, if they want to really hit... More

It's nothing to look at decor wise inside(though the outside patio is lovely) but you won't care. The sandwiches are delicious and I highly recommend the homemade chicken salad which is superb. Leave room for a piece of their famous homemade pound cake.

For some strange reason, I have been wildly craving chopped chicken liver. (No, it is not THAT--I am 71). I have lived in my present location for 5+ years, but have never been to Phil's, which is about .5 miles--walking. I went in today, ordered a chopped liver sandwich with mayo on rye, with potato salad to go. Got home,... More

When I saw a reviewer said " a bit of New York" I got excited. Must have been N.Y. Montana. Ordered the CORNED BEEF its a deli right? It was eh. French fries weren't cooked thoroughly. Just a disappointing experience. Wish I was in Cleveland. Slymans has the best corned beef ever.

We love going to Phils! They have the nicest servers (I think they're owners too) and they have the best chicken salad, blt, turkey reuben and homemade goodies in town...all for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend trying them out

Always looking for a good place for some Jewish delicatessen. This place actually met most of the criteria of "lean" meat, rye bread (with "seeds") and, always, a Dr. Brown Cream soda. We tried the pastrami and the corned beef and not disappointed. Unfortunately, still searching for the "egg cream", but this makes up in just good plain food, with... More

Family owned and staffed deli with good food, friendly service, good prices, and a home away from home feeling. Need to try this place out.

We had to kill a few hours and Phil's was on our list to try. Our dog goes with us and we look for patio seating. Got it. BUT, he has to stay outside of the railing. Not cool. We were able to get a nice table in the shade and enjoyed our food. I had an old fashioned corned... More
