A group of 7 of us decided to celebrate my birthday as well as my sisters. We made our reservation and was excited as 3 in our group had never been and were happy to share this experience with them. We were seated and introduced to our waiter Aaron. The experience went down from that point. I've been to various... More

We always enjoy our meal at Ruth's Chris-whichever city we're in. This one was no exception and we were taken right in at the time of our reservation.

My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day! This was my first time to Ruth Chris Steak House. I do not adventure out with my severe food allergens. I had called in advance and talked to "Chef Eric". I told him about my allergies, and how I would need my meal prepared. Chef Eric took the time to personally come... More

I dined on the fillet mignon, steak house mashed potatoes, and had the mushroom soup (which had pureed mushrooms-very good) and had the chocolate cheesecake mousse and bread pudding (which was also extremely good).

Enjoyed dinner with family for Queens Feast. Chose petite filet and creamed spinach. We also ordered sweet potatoe casserole. Steak was cooked just as I ordered. Spinach was ok could have been a little warmer. The sweet potato casserole was the best crunchy topping and piping hot. Overall was a nice outing. Enjoyed free valet parking it was cold outside.

This week 8 friends went to Ruth Chris Uptown for Restaurant Week and to celebrate a birthday. Thankfully, there was free valet service for parking. We were seated within a few minutes of our reservation time. Our waiter was friendly, efficient and solicitous to the birthday girl which was appreciated. We all ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. Seven of... More

We love eating at Ruth's Chris and were fortunate enough to get a reservation during Restaurant Week! Their petite filet and mushrooms are divine. Their service is always top-notch, and Woody, the manager, made sure everyone enjoyed their evening. We'll definitely return and highly recommend.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while. We came during restaurant week to give it a try and it was definitely worth it. The meal we had was prepared correctly and tasted wonderful. The garlic mashed potatoes were great as well, great side to my filet. The waiter Simeon was wonderful. Very friendly. He even took... More

My husband and I stopped in for a couple of appetizers and drinks at the bar. Erin remembered us from October! We devoured the veal ravioli, cauliflower au gratin, Caesar salad and steak salad and creamed spinach. The service was impeccable and the food was superb!

They call Ruth’s Chris founder Ruth Fertel, the First Lady of American Restaurants. But before there were 130+ locations serving 25,000 steaks a day, there was a fearless single mother of two who tore an ad from the local newspaper that read “steak house for sale” and thought, “I can do that”. The year was 1965. It’s a great American story of how one person- a woman, at a time and in a business dominated by men took an idea and made it sing. What Ruth lacked in experience she made up in hard work. But it wasn’t just sixteen – hour days that made her steakhouse an icon. Ruth had the divinely simple, yet uncommonly magical way of touching people with genuine kindness- the way food and love and people just fit together in her hometown of New Orleans where the legend was born. in 1976, there was fire at the original Chris’ Steak House, destroying the restaurant and leaving Ruth in a difficult situation. But Ruth was smart, and she learned to trust her instincts. Ruth plowed forward and within seven days she was back in business in a new location just four blocks away on Broad Street in New Orleans. Tired of guests calling her Chris but not wanting to lose to loyal customer base who knew the restaurant by it’s longtime name, Ruth renamed her restaurant “Ruth’s Chris Steak House”…and the rest is history.
