Located in a strip plaza, this place is small but not hard to find. Just look for the people standing around outside looking to get in. If you are a sushi lover and in the area this is a MUST do.

Come early for dinner because it is small and always busy! We arrived at 5:15 on a Friday. There was a wait by the time we left an hour later. The server we had was SO nice. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was perfect. We ordered some tempura, which actually had a disappointing amount of onion, but... More

We eat here about four times a year. It's good to go early for dinner. The restaurant is small and sometimes you have to wait for 40 minutes to get seated. The sushi and sushi boat is wonderful. You cna watch it being made in front of you. The combination plates have great variety of items in addition to the... More

New Zealand has the best sushi in Charlotte. It's unassuming as it's a tiny restaurant in a strip mall center. The sashimi tastes amazing and the staff is friendly. It's very small so expect a wait most days. I lived in Japan for two years, and their sashimi and nigiri tastes the best to me in this area. The prices... More

Agree with the positive reviews. If you can avoid the busy times it is more relaxing. Went one day to lunch at noon and had quite a wait. Two days later went at 11:45 and what a difference.

New Zealand Cafe is great. Sushi is always fresh and presented in a beautiful way. The Bento box is a family favorite. The restaurant is small so definitely don't go during busy times or you will have a long wait.

Been coming here for 10+ years. Easily best sushi in CLT and one of my favorite restaurants overall. Highly suggested.

Small, busy and loud place, but well worth the wait and noise. Featured rolls are the best I've found in Charlotte. Single sushi pieces, while very fresh and good, are a bit smaller than I like. No complaints here though - at under $2/piece you can simply double-down on your order!

This is the best quality sushi in the city of Charlotte regardless of price. It is also one of the least expensive. It's tucked away in an odd strip mall and doesn't impress at first sight. The inside is clean and nicely appointed and the chef, Jackie is an amazingly gracious host and an artist with a knife. He never... More

The sushi here was amazing. It was fresh and the options and price were great. I would recommend the boat for two. The place is a small shop in a strip mall so seating can be tight. If going during a busy time expect to wait.
