I've met friends/colleagues here for day meetings but also enjoy hearing friends perform in the evenings. I have enjoyed most meals but definitely remember the lovely beignets I ordered with my summer camp group. Love that Beyu is suitable for diverse crowds. Live music is a nice way to wind down.

I've been here many times, and always had a good experience. But today I had the Shrimp and Grits, and it was one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. The shrimp were plump, the sausage spiced perfectly, the cheese, oh the cheese. I could write a love song to the cheese. But I won't, because that's too personal.

Located in downtown Durham where a thriving foodie culture has made standing out difficult, the Beyu Caffe has risen to the occasion with a varied menu, great food, and relaxed atmosphere. Located practically next door to the always packed Dame's Chicken and Waffles, the Beyu was our destination on a recent Sunday morning. We were seated quickly by pleasant staff... More

If you are in downtown Durham and looking for a nice spot to relax, grab a cup of something to drink and enjoy some quiet personal time or enjoy chatting with friends, this is your spot. The environment and location couldn't be better and the staff couldn't be friendlier.

My fiancé and I came here for a quick lunch in between errands. We both ordered salads which were pretty good. The staff seemed to be very preoccupied with talking amongst themselves, not attending to tables well, and more concerned with their own conversations vs. serving. Unfortunately, with this kind of customer service, they will have few people return for... More

Went for breakfast with my family. Food was ordinary. Nothing worth writing about except maybe the Mexican latte which was good (coffee, chocolate, spices in a latte. Not groundbreaking). Service was pretty awful. Waitress took forever to come to the table initially, then realized she had never brought our menus. When she eventually returned with the menus, plopped them down... More

My husband and I were invited to see a jazz singer at Beyu and liked the experience. However, we made a reservation but were not told that the reservation was for the bar. We were a group of four people so it was difficult to carry a conversation and truly enjoy our time together as friends. Besides, it was very... More

I had the pleasure of having lunch at the Beyu Caffe while on business. The service was friendly and efficient and the shrimp and grits were delicious. The atmosphere is "cozy" but not crowded to the point where you can hear the conversation of others. The tables for two are a little small which can be a challenge based on... More

My husband and I were visiting from out of town and heard it was good so we decided to give it try. I ordered shrimp and grits and he ordered a hamburger with sweet potato fries. The gravy was very good which helped make the dish. My grits had no taste and were clumpy. Since the gravy is on top... More
