If there are over twenty people waiting in line when a place opens, you know it must be good. Sunday brunch outside was very pleasant. We had the farmer's omelette and bircher muesli, with a delicious desert called a chocolate tartlet (signature item).

Great particularly for breakfast. Lots of German specials like shnitzel, soda apple juice, etc.. Nice outdoor seating. In particular, go for the pastries and other desserts which are to die for!

We visit frequently for a scrumptious pastry and perhaps a salad about once a month. Weather permitting - outside seating is the best !

The bakery is quite good and the drip coffee is nice. Avoid the espresso drinks. It does get crowded during brunch hours, but otherwise it has plenty of seating. The dinner menu is also good, but not very friendly to vegetarians.

The brunch food is pretty good although it is really not any more special than at any other restaurant that serves brunch. There are tons of good brunch places in and around Durham so I don't really understand the hype here. The line gets very...More

Enjoyed brunch at Guglhupf with a group of friends while in town visiting Duke University. We were confused as to the setup when we arrived. We learned that you go in and order.... then find a table. There is no hostess or waitress. Also, if...More
