Our family of four arrived later to town and missed our reservation at another establishment. We walked into Wolfgangs and courteously pleaded for an available table. Within mins we were placed at a perfect table in the back with festive hats and promptly waited on. The New Years Eve entire tasting menu was excellent and the restaurant even catered to our daughters with a separate menu. When our 12 yr old daughter didn't love the noodle dish our innovative server offered the delicious wild mushroom creme soup as a topper and she loved it! Each of us were served an individual chocolate top hat dessert with fireworks and our server kindly took numerous pics. The entire staff catered to our family on a typical adult night out and we will forever be loyal patrons when in town. Thank you Wolfgangs for a Nyears memory our family will treasure!

We are very Covid-19 conscious and were glad to see so is Wolfgang's and we were able to sit outside in the back patio. The excellent staff ensured the chill of the October evening was offset by a strategically placed heater. Wolfgang Green has a formidable CV and his tremendously varied menu runs the gamut of his illustrious career. He was executive chef at another of our great favorites, Commander's Palace in New Orleans, and Cajun & Creole are well represented along with signature dishes from elsewhere, The Crab Cake starter is superb with big chunks of crab liberally laced with cream sauce and accompanied by Sonoma Greens. Highlands is of course trout country and my wife enjoyed her Trout Filets with Bourbon Pecan Beurre Blanc, red potatoes and greens. I happily chose the Wiener Schnitzel - veal is a rarity in the US - and the breaded loin was a tender delight served with sautéed potatoes and veggies. Our attentive server, Deborah, selected a really good value Cab from the award winning wine list and we will seek out the Kith & Kin 2018 from Napa again. The chef himself came out to receive our accolades. A splendid, relaxing dinner!

We were a very large dinner party (10 adults) are were treated to a private dining area in a "hidden" room at the back of the restaurant - so the ambience was excellent. The menu is diverse (fish, meat, wild game), so my expectations were the food would be good, but not great. However, all of our party were impressed with the quality of the food. The shrimp and grits had a Cajun twist and was excellent. The grilled salmon was fresh, flaky, and not overcooked. The Bavarian Sampler featured some authentic German wursts. Wine menu was good. Our waitperson was knowledgeable and attentive. Overall an experience that exceeded expectations

Well, I'll start with the good. Our food was good. I got weiner schnitzel and it was delicious. My husband got the Bavarian sampler and it was good. It was perfect Fall weather food and we don't know much about German cuisine. If only everything else around our dinner had been as good as the food. Maybe it started by accepting an outdoor table next to a heater that was not working. They did say they would move use but we were not that cold so we stayed put. Maybe this was a signal that the staff could pay less attention to us and we'd be ok with it. We sat with our menus for awhile with no one checking on us. Finally a server came and took our order and said she'd be back with bread and butter. Never happened. A different person brought our food that came out very quickly. No one came by to check on us after the food came. We also noticed we were the only people sitting in the section with the broken patio heater. We could see our server waiting on 2 larger groups and running around taking care of them but she paid zero attention to us. Someone else finally came and took the plates away. Someone else brought a dessert menu. We thought we might try the apple streudel and end on a good note. But we sat with our dessert menus forever and by the time our server came to take a dessert order, we were just kind of over it and asked for the check. She seemed shocked that were were not getting dessert. She brought the check and tried to bolt but my husband quickly gave her a card to pay so we could just get out of here (who knows how long we would have waited to pay?). We read good reviews of this restaurant and were very surprised at how poor the service was. It's too bad as we liked our food. We had considered ordering chateaubriand and were glad we didn't considering the lack of attention to service we experienced. This was by far my biggest disappointment in our long weekend trip to Highlands. Our pizza lunch at Four65 Woodfire Bistro had far better service than dinner at Wolfgangs.

Thank you for an incredible dinner! The Escargots and crusty French rolls were perfect for a rainy evening sitting on the covered deck enjoying the waterfall and the magical sound of rain on the roof. The New York strip steak was cook to perfection balanced with a lovely Cabernet sauce! The side of tied vegetables was beautifully presented. I would be remiss In not mentioning the wine pairings which were perfect. The staff deserves special mention for exceptional service from the manager, to server, to busboy. A lovely setting in all dining rooms and just the place for that “special” dinner. Chef Wolfgang and wife Mindy deserves more than 5 stars! Exceptional!!

By far one of the best experiences we’ve had in Highlands. Our server Briony was amazing. She knew the menu up and down and was able to customize our dinner with her expertise. Lexi can make a mean martini...so cold and perfectly balanced. From the front of the house to the back our experience was perfect. Not to mention the seats were so comfortable.

We ate at Wolfgang’s on Halloween which had been a tradition until COVID. Glad we could get back to it. Started with a great bottle of wine, which was more than reasonably priced. Had the escargot as an appetizer. They were great as always. However, the bread served with the escargot were just two more of the same rolls we already had. The rolls don’t work as well as crusty bread would have. Moved on to the Caesar salad which was fine, maybe a tad too much anchovy in the dressing for my taste, but that’s me. Followed that with a NY strip for me and veal fir my wife. The strip was outstanding and HUGE. My wife was a little disappointed in the veal. Let me mention that I believe the strip was $34 which compares VERY favorably to a local steakhouse charging $54 for the same thing. All in all, great meal.

This is truly a special restaurant. On our most recent visit we had spectacular service from Daniel and Kevin. Our water glasses were never empty and we never had to wait long if we had a question or needed to order another drink. The food, as always, was fantastic. Between the four of us we ordered a good portion of the menu. From the pecan crusted shrimp, to the French Onion Soup, to the Stuffed Portobello, you can't go wrong with the appetizers. For entrees, two had the short rib and we also had the Veal Medallions "Wolfgang" and the Venison. Everything was incredible. For dessert, we shared the Apple Strudel, bananas Foster, and nightly special creme brulee, which was lemoncello. All were of course amazing. Wolfgangs also boasts a tremendous wine list. When we are in Highlands, this is the place we make sure we hit at least twice, it is that good.

Wolfgang's is our absolute favorite dinner spot when we are in Highlands! The service is always top notch, the food is out of this world and they have a wonderful wine selection. We recently had dinner at Wolfgang's and had such a blast - Our waitress knew so much about the wines and even introduced us to the manager who gave us a tour of their cellar. They made us feel so welcomed and really made it a fantastic dining experience. I can't wait for our next trip back! Everything on the menu is amazing but I HIGHLY recommend getting the short rib!!!

We arrived at Wolfgang's thinking we had reservations but were mistaken. Realizing how necessary dining reservations are at this time, I planned ahead a little too far in advance and obviously thought I made them but did not. No problem for the kind staff at Wolfgang's. They not only seated us but took great care of us in every way, checking our comfort concerning the temperature and our seating arrangement. And then the food! So very good and perfectly prepared and presented. We loved the Mountain Trout and sides with tasty accompanying rolls. We really enjoyed this restaurant and how nicely they responded to us being a bit of trouble. My husband dropped his glasses unknowingly and when I called from our hotel to see if they were there, the hostess unhesitatingly offered to bring them right over to our hotel. We really appreciated everyone at Wolfgang's and will return next time in the Highlands.

We visited the area this week and were looking for a nice evening out. I made a reservation weeks in advance. They sat us in the furthest area from the front. It felt odd being so secluded. The service was good. The food excellent but the portions were very small. The shrimp appetizer was three average sized shrimp. For $13?? The venison was very good but a bit overpriced for the serving size.

We had an amazing meal last evening at Wolfgang’s and we plan to return again! Deborah was our server and she was a great help! She gave us tons of recommendations and was helpful in accommodating our dietary needs. My grandmother was with us and cannot eat nuts, but wanted to trout meal that is served with pecans. Deborah was able to work with the kitchen to prepare the fish differently. Upon her first bite she said “I want to come back tomorrow!”. We are foodies and my husband loved his lamb and I loved the veal osso bucco. The food was beautifully plated and tasted as good as it looked. We all left very satisfied! It was our first meal out on vacation and it will be very hard to top. My 3 year old daughter was with us and she is sooo picky. She wanted pizza for dinner and again Deborah helped us get her a modified flatbread to accommodate. She was a happy little girl! Overall we were very impressed and had nothing negative to say about the experience!

Four of us had dinner on a busy Saturday night. Vanessa was helpful with menu selections and allowed us time to relax and enjoy our conversation before ordering. ALL the entrees were delicious. Venison, fish, short rib and schnitzel were excellent choices.

Setting to die for-the premier restaurant in Highlands for our money. Moderately priced compared to many Highlands restaurants and our wait person. Deborah is the other reason we returned. Like a NYC waitperson, she was at our table and anticipated food and drink needs before we knew we needed them. Don’t miss this restaurant if you come to Highlands NC , and if you can, have Deborah be your server Food is fabulous

Wow. Just wow! Can't say enough about this delicious and gracious experience at Wolfgangs for my 40th birthday! Party of 6 and amazing service by our wonderful waitress, Deborah! Food was absolutely delicious, prices on point and staff were courteous and attentive with pleasant personalities... hard to find apparently up here.
