This has been a family favorite for years. Slightly off the beat & path but easy to get to. Quaint atmosphere with great food. We love finding family businesses that are special.

We visit the Outer Banks annually, and the Colington Cafe is our FAVORITE restaurant. The food and service are both excellent, and the menu is unique. As a small plane pilot, we have flown from Raleigh to Kill Devil Hills (First Flight Airport, 1/4 walk away) for a special occasion (birthday/anniversary) dinner on a couple occasions.
Our family recently convened for the holiday and stumbled on this lovely restaurant that offered our own private room, just because... We were blessed to have April who more than took care of us and shared other places to visit during our stay. The food was exquisite, especially the Fish du jour & Mixed Grill. Thank you! We went to the cafe tonight and were not surprised by the great service and delicious food. Our server, Courtney, was knowledgeable, efficient, pleasant and right on time. I got the petite fillet with jumbo shrimp and my wife got salmon with crab. Both were expertly prepared and served hot. Great place to dine.
Having attended the traditional Owen's Restaurant Thanksgiving buffet (superb), Owen's being the restaurant I use as a reference for others in the neighborhood, followed by a very disappointing trip to Pamlico Jacks, my wife and I made reservations and attended Collington Cafe the night before our departure in celebration of her birthday. One word: Outstanding!! Service, ambiance, appetizer, entree, wine... More
Wonderful place! Been going to OBX for decades and just discovered Colington Cafe this year...one of our new favorites! Consistently up to par and nothing negative to report! Can't wait to visit again!
We decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner here a day early and loved our meal. The setting was very comfortable, sitting in a quiet corner looking out the windows. Our entrees of shrimp scampi and Napoleon shrimp and scallops were both excellent. To top it all off, our service from April was wonderful!
