The ribs and southern fried chicken were excellent. And the people couldn’t have been nicer. My wife wanted to know what was one of the barbecue sauces and they brought it out and explained it to her and modified it to her specifications. Excellent place

The food was incredible and fairly priced. But the best part was the people! Our service was exceptional.

I’m a NC native and it’s been years since I’ve had authentic NC BBQ. Food was fast and reasonably priced. A lot of food for the money. They also sell the sauce so I’m taking some home.

The fried chicken was wonderful and so was the slaw . Great service as well. I also got a bit of a history lesson that I enjoyed.

We've been to High Cotton for years. Usually the food has been pretty good. This visit, however, was not up to par. This time we had the brisket plates, pork barbecue sandwich, and ribs. The brisket had been sitting and then was smothered with some...More

The food here is amazing. Best bbq I have ever eaten and bbq is my favorite cuisine. But it seems like a home cooked type of place that doesn’t focus on dietary restrictions. I would guess the ribs are gluten free given... More

Authentic. Simple. Delicious. High Cotton Barbeque has been well-known on the Outer Banks for over 10 years for their Eastern North Carolina Style Barbeque, Famous Fried or Slow Smoked Juicy Chicken, Melt in Your Mouth Ribs and Texas-style Beef Brisket. As Tarheel natives we want to share the flavors and aromas unique to Eastern North Carolina Barbeque. Consistent temperatures and long hours of smoking with hickory coals produce the characteristic pink coloring and sweet outside brown meat of our famous pork barbeque. Combined with our traditional side dishes and a glass of sweet tea and you're in High Cotton, Outer Banks Barbeque at its very best.
