After a nice dinner in Nags head, we decided to head out to Scoops Ice Cream based on a friends recommendation,. It is located in the Kitty Hawk Kites Plaza where you can check out the hundreds of amazing kites after your ice cream. Scoops had my favorite ice cream Peppermint along with many other old and new favorites. All... More

We stopped here on a whim after visiting the sand dunes and lighthouse in Nags Head. So glad they were open! The hand made ice cream was perfect, not too sweet and very creamy. Definitely worth stopping in.

Scoops in both KDH and Nags Head has some of the best ice cream. They have many flavors and all are made fresh in the Nags Head shop. Our favorites were the Peach, Oreo, Banana Pudding (with vanilla wafers crushed up) and Peppermint. Owners were very friendly to our kids and informative when we asked about their flavors. Allowed us... More

My daughter and I have been to the Scoops in KDH twice and to this one (NH) once. Last time we went I thought it was overpriced but couldn't remember what I got so we went back and got a kids cone and a small cone (both cake cones) and it was almost $8. Ridiculous, in my opinion. The ice... More

I don't know if this place is as good as I always remember, or if it is because we go there after we sundown at Jockey's Ridge, but regardless, I really enjoy this place. It's in that shopping plaza with Kitty Hawk Kites, right across the street from Jockey's Ridge in the upstairs area. The staff is very friendly and... More

Went there THREE time on a recent one-week vacation....the malts are that good. Unless they run out of malt powder. The prices are a little high and the specialty cones aren't worth it, but the malts....man. Interesting location, too, right across from Jockey's Ridge.

Here my friends is where Satan chooses to own a business and terrorize small children. I've never encountered a more disturbed man in my life. He owns this shop, I'm convinced, to terrorize small children. He places items at children's level and waits for them to touch to pounce, frightening, reprimanding and causing little ones to run from the premises.

This is a great stop after lunch - maybe just before some mini-golf or kite flying on jockey's ridge... They are in the shopping complex with Kitty Hawk Kites. There are outdoor tables on the covered deck to enjoy your treats and catch Pokemon. They have so many flavors it was hard to choose. There is also a tasty looking... More

Friendly staff, helpful and good with indecisive kids. Place to sit outside and enjoy your ice cream or cross the street and eat while you climb the dunes.
