We made dinner reservations for the Thanksgiving Buffet. Even with reservations, though, we waited 40 minutes. It was odd to overhear two couples check in without reservations but get seated immediately in the lounge while we waited. That was perplexing. I even went to the...More

I attended a wedding a month or so ago and as many are I was excited for the dinner and appetizers. When we finally received our food, the portion size was extremely small, the food was cold and tasteless. The service was OK but nothing...More

One of my favorite spots in season, however not so much for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was good and the staff was responsive, but, in way over their heads. When I make reservations at a restaurant I like to be seated within a reasonable time....More

This is a really beautiful place and the seafood was amazing! My family had a variety of fish including flounder and mahi mahi. Each dish was wonderfully presented and the quality of the seafood was exceptional. We visited in November so cooler temperatures but there...More

We have visited this restaurant for many years when we lived on the OBX. Our grandson is now part of the well trained staff. We miss not being able to see our friend Mark, as we did when we ate there in the past. We...More

This is our FAVORITE dinner spot on the island. The food and service were excellent and it was wonderful to be seated at the window on the bay watching the pelicans on their roost just outside the window with the full moon reflecting on the...More

Returned to this farm/sea to table restaurant after a few years hiatus. And it lived up to our expectations. Tuna bite appetizer, pecan crusted trout and blacked dolphin fish servings tasted as though they were pulled minutes before from the ocean. An extensive wine list...More

Description
At Lone Cedar Cafe, we specialize in fresh and local seafood. If you're craving the freshest fish, clams, crab, shrimp and oysters from local North Carolina waters, you'll find them at the Lone Cedar Cafe. For generations, Outer Banks families made their livings - and their daily meals - from the bounty of local waters, caught fresh every day. Our family, the Basnights, were part of that history, and we continue the tradition today by serving only the freshest Outer Banks seafood, caught in local waters and brought to our docks daily by local fishermen, then cleaned and prepared right here at the Lone Cedar Cafe. Our vegetables are "just picked" from North Carolina farms, we serve only all-natural beef and poultry and even our herbs and greens are grown in our own chemical-free garden on-site. Come enjoy delicious food, gorgeous sunsets and panoramic water views, the antics of our resident ospreys and our warm Southern hospitality.
