We were touring Tryon Palace one very hot Saturday in June, and were pleasantly delighted when we came across Lawson's Landing in the Museum they have on the property. It was decorated adorably, and had a very fresh menu. My fussy son requested something off the menu, and they gladly made it for him! It was really nice to have... More

If you want a pleasant way to while away a summer's afternoon in New Bern, start it off with a nice lunch at Lawson's. Located at the NC History Center, the ceiling to floor window view of the water is relaxing. There is patio seating with plenty of shade. The service is not necessarily the fastest, but the goodwill and... More

This establishment is first class all the way. Our server at Bakers Kitchen recommended that we visit this GEM for lunch . He did not let us down, from the moment you walk in you are amidst with the feel of an upper class waterfront lounge. The décor was absolutely stunning. We had our lunch and enjoyed the spectacular viewing... More

We really liked the place. Discovered it after our visit to Tryon Palace and the next day, the NC museum. Everything was so good, fresh, place is beautifully appointed. We loved it.

This restaurant is in the North Carolina History Center overlooking the river. Open for breakfast and lunch. We had lunch and found the menu was mostly light fare. I had the strawberry salad. My wife had a quiche. The atmosphere is nice and modern. It was pretty crowded with several groups and many small parties. Convenient for visitors and seemingly... More

Small menu and cozy restaurant. Great views and we had really great service. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. Quiche was very good and the best thing about brunch was the bottomless mimosas which are served on Saturday and Sunday, I believe. Also enjoyed the dessert, German chocolate cake. Strawberry cake was very popular but not as... More

thought it was a limited menu and maybe too upscale for a tourist attraction. The highly touted Strawberry Shortcake cake was dry as was the Lemon cake. Sandwiches were ok. The day we were there it was unlimited Mimosas. The ladies who lunch were enjoying that. Nice patio with tables for outside dining. waitstaff wear white tshirts and there was... More

This place is a little out of the way, behind the NC History Museum, but I am glad we found it. We had an outdoor table in July and it was quite pleasant with the breeze coming off of the Trent River. Our server was attentive and full of personality, The sandwiches were perfect for lunch and the Highlands IPA... More

We enjoyed the food here. However, we were disappointed that the menu wasn't a little larger. Also, their flourless cake was wonderful, but the menu didn't show that the cake had nuts. Fortunately we discovered this in time.

Sat June 18th we had a New Bern High School graduation party at Lawson Landing Cafe. It was fabulous :) The staff was extremely warm, kind and professional. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. The inside venue was comfy and cozy . Full floor to celing widows with an amazing outdoor deck right on the Neuse River just incredible... More
