Reviewed yesterday NEW

Our first time this year, and it was as wonderful as ever. Started out with the sampler platter, all excellent except for the cod fritters (not a fan, too fishy tasting) and the chicken wings and pork appetizer are enough reason to go there, then onto ribs, steaks and grilled shrimp skewers. They are most noted for their 18 oz.... More

If you have not been to the Sugar Shack you are missing out big time. We always get the ribs and chicken wings and you have to use a fork to get them to your mouth bc they fall off of the bone when you pick them up. Our whole family is in love with the home made jerk sauce.... More

I planned a trip to Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. at The Winds Beach Resort and the Sugar Shack came highly recommended from all the reviews. I was due to arrive in Ocean Isle on the 12th, so I made reservations for that evening at 8 PM via phone message. They called me back the day I arrived in Ocean Isle... More

Love Sugar Shack! Great food large portions. The ribs and coconut shrimp are my favorite. Each meal starts with a Johnny bread which is a spice bread, which is very delicious. The food is seasoned with Jamaica seasoning which is not spicy but adds a great flavor to each dish.

Such a fabulous restaurant. It is tucked away, but be prepared to wait during the peak season. The wait can be worth it (I wouldn't wait over an hour though).

Start your experience with a Red Stripe beer while you wait on your table because this place is always packed. Food is true to the Jamaican experience and is delightful. I have to admit I ordered the stewed fish and when all of our plates arrived I was disappointed in the appearance of my dish. everyone else's was so pretty... More

Mid-priced, good Jamacian food. Be adventurous & try something you've never eaten. You won't regret it.
