This was my second visit to Gravy. It is a small restaurant located in Downtown Raleigh. I suggest making reservations if you want to eat there an hour or more after opening as it does fill up. I have enjoyed my visits here and the food is exceptional. The service does need some work though. I ordered a salad and... More

This is our 3rd visit to Gravy (2 lunches, and 1 dinner). Everything we've ordered has been delicious. This time, we had the tagliatalle pasta. Homemade pasta with great texture and cooked properly.

We came here for restaurant after the recommendation from a co-worker and were pleased with our experience. I will disclose that I was battling a cold so I may have had some dulled sense while eating here but enjoyed it none the less. We visited on a Saturday night during prime dinner time during restaurant week so of course it... More

Best meal of the week! Gravy totally surprised me. The server was quick, sharp, witty, and spot-on with his suggestions and descriptions of food options. The restaurant itself was cozy and reasonably quiet. The Kale Caesar salad and Beef Carpaccio were both phenomenal starter dishes. I loved the beef so much that I ordered a second. The salad was voluminous... More

This review is a compilation of 5 or 6 trips to Gravy, in groups of 2 to 6 people over the last 9 to 12 months. the good: yes, they source from some local farms, yes, they offer some very nice alternatives to typical "red sauce" Italian restaurants, but honestly their red-sauce Italian is awesome. It's the least favorite thing... More

We want for Sunday lunch. We got there at 11:30am with a reservation. Place filled up pretty quick. Parking is easy in Raleigh on a Sunday. Service was excellent. people were very attentive. I had the meatballs for lunch and they were really very good. We had 4 kids with us 8,9 yr olds and they enjoyed it too -... More

A friend recommended Gravy and we couldn't be happier. The setting was great-downtown Raleigh, service was friendly and the waitress answered every question we had graciously, and the food was fantastic. I had the homemade gnocchi in leek cream sauce with truffle oil. It was moan-worthy. Hubby had the traditional spaghetti and meatballs (pasta also homemade). He loved it. We... More

Came to celebrate with a friend , was nervous about breaking my diet, but I was able to stay in my calorie range for my diet with this Kale paramasean salad !! Omg it was delicious , I'm not big on kale but oh boy did this shock my taste buds ! The blends, and spices along with the house... More

New York Italian dining is located in downtown Raleigh at the delightful Gravy on South Wilmington. Not to be missed, the locale is located among several up and coming smaller restaurants that dot the downtown dining options. The menu is quite adequate spanning the classic pasta offerings to larger entree offerings. I had the 4-cheese Cannelloni and my husband opted... More

Gravy is a quaint restaurant in downtown Raleigh. Serving various Italian-oriented entrees, the lasagna, eggplant pie, and four-cheese canneloni are each delicious in their own rights. However, after sampling the eggplant pie, I am now addicted to it and the arugula salad with lemon olive oil ... yum! It is worth jockying the terrible downtown traffic to find a spot... More

Description
Ask any Italian-American what ‘gravy’ is, and they'll tell you it's the pasta sauce that their mothers and grandmothers cooked fresh every night. At Gravy Restaurant we take the same care, preparing our signature sauce every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. The heart and soul poured into the preparation of traditional Italian-American dishes pairs with inspired modern twists and a focus on seasonal ingredients to define Gravy’s unique approach to this classic cuisine.
