I loved this place! Had a good variety of food and it is true country cookin'. The potions are very generous also. Loved it!

It's an icon breakfast restaurant in Raleigh. We enjoy taking our family and out of town friends there to see for themselves what a real southern breakfast is like!

It's a shame that I have to write this review. I simply have to let all prospective diners know the truth about this restaurant and my experience. When I first read about Big Ed's being number five on TripAdvisor, I had to go. And I told myself that when I did go, I'd go Big, just like Ed himself. Unfortunately,... More

Big Ed's is still the best breakfast in Raleigh. Pam's Country Kitchen comes close, but this is the place for Country Ham, Sausage Links, Grits, and the best Red-Eye gravy you will find anywhere. Services is excellent and very friendly. Line usually moves pretty fast. Best scrambled eggs in the area.

Delicious food with huge servings worth every minute of the wait. The pancakes are huge and delicious. Service was excellent and staff very friendly.

2nd time here . Nothing to brag about. I was hoping for good food . But. I had grits last time and knew these were horrible. So tdy i had Cajun ckn biscuit and home fries . Biscuit seemed dry and ckn very small. Plate was full of frozen fried potatoes that lacked flavor.. crunch. And no seasoning.. go elsewhere..

My wife has been dying for me to try this place. She has been on a couple of occasions and raved about how good the food was. We decided to go before the Christmas Parade and it was delicious. I had an omelette and it was perfectly cooked. Grits and biscuits were good. I wish I could remember our server's... More

Visited this establishment for Sunday breakfast. If you are looking for a hearty breakfast this is a don't miss destination. If you were in a hurry don't be put off by a long line outside the door. It moves quickly. The decor of the place is really cool. Nostalgia from all over America is everywhere. This provided a great walk... More

Country cooking at its best! If I'm in town I'm pushing hard for a Big Ed's breakfast. My favorites are the country ham, grits, grilled biscuits (I ask for mine to be mashed flat) and eggs. My family loves the pancakes; my grandson has been eating them since he needed a high chair and my wife gets them every time.... More
