Was looking forward to the food but not as great as expected. Enjoyed the atmosphere more. Being from the south, my taste buds are very acquainted with good southern food and this was what I would categorize as average. Now don't get me wrong, if...More

Great spot for home cooking and southern hospitality! If you're an officer (ems, fire, police) you will love the framed patches from around the states, owner pointed out that the patches are from folks that have stopped by to sample the excellent food. Breakfast is...More

Big Ed's can make grits almost as good as my southern Granny could. Always get the grits with scrambled eggs, bacon, hot bisquits and coffee. Never need to ask for a refill the ladies keep the cup full and are always pleasant and efficient.

Big Ed's is one of the best breakfast spots in Raleigh. Southern breakfast all the way! The pancakes barely fit on the plate, you will not be disappointed.

This is our go to breakfast destination when folks come from out of town. The price is right, the décor is so interesting and the service is top notch. The coffee is excellent and I have to mention the biscuits!!!!

I had the chuck wagon fried steak with collards, mashed potatoes, biscuit, corn bread and strawberry shortcake. My wife had the French toast. Everything was delicious.
