This restaurant has been a Raleigh staple for many years. The seafood is always a big draw as it is generally excellent and well prepared. If we want an excellent seafood dinner, this is the place we choose. The food is fresh, well prepared and varied enough that we all can choose what appeals to each of us individually. Love... More

Everyone said this was the place to go. It was ok.... nothing that spectacular. The atmosphere was good. It was fun sitting at the Oyster Bar, but the food was just so so.

Ate here on a Saturday night before going to a musical at the Duke Energy Center. We had a 5:30 reservation, and I recommend getting a reservation because it was very crowded. We were seated right away and the waiter was very good. I had 6 oysters on the half shell, blackened mahi-mahi, baked potato, and coleslaw. My wife had... More

Stopped in for dinner before seeing a show at Duke Energy Performing Arts Center. Service was excellent. My brother enjoyed his steak; said it was delicious. His girlfriend and I tried the crab cakes. While better than most, these two Maryland girls were disappointed. No big chunks of crab, no taste of Old Bay, overall just a fairly good crab... More

My favorite Seafood restaurant in Raleigh. Always have at least three kinds of Oysters and at least three dozen. The daily Fish is fresh and you can request it to be cooked anyway you want. Vey large dinning room with excellent service. I like sitting in one of the smaller booths in the corner for a more intimate experience.

Outstanding service and fresh seafood makes this restaurant my favorite for business and special occasions. Expensive but worth every penny.

I was at the Raleigh Durham airport for 6 hours and spent about 1 1/2 hours at the 42nd Street Oyster Bar. Even though the airport was crazy busy with hundreds of canceled and delayed flights, I never felt rushed with their service. The food was good and I love that you can get a double shot of alcohol in... More

Skip the wait and sit at the oyster bar. Great atmosphere and lightening fast service for the volume the restaurant moves. The oyster sampler is a must have !!!!!!! I wouldn't plan on sharing it because it's that good. The sword fish was good but after spectating someone's plate I would recommend getting it blackened instead of grilled. The staff... More
