We visited after a day of shopping and before a concert. The waitress was WONDERFUL about answering our numerous questions about the menu. The garlic knots were a favorite of the whole table. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

We've been to eat here twice with an Italian friend who grew up in Queens NY. She says it's very much like what she grew up eating. We enjoy it also. We also liked the basic ceasar salad and house wine. Service is with a smile.

Great old school Italian restaurant. Stick with the basics here - clean dark and classic! Our grandfather just passed away and this was his favorite place we enjoyed a family style meal in his honor. The chicken parm was his #1 pick and they delivered - as a jaded NYer I was certain it would be a fail but it... More

We were visiting the area, and on recommendation, we stopped at Assaggio's for dinner. It has a very comfortable, Italian feel to it, complete with checked tablecloths, dark wood trim, and wine bottles. The restaurant was clean with nice decor. Their menu offers a variety of choices, and they have a nice wine list, which we appreciated. The waitstaff was... More

The food was excellent and the wait staff was attentive. We were there as a couple but it is very family friendly. I would recommend this place

We've only been in Raleigh a little over a year and we have been to many Italian restaurants for dinner. We keep going back to Assaggio's because the food is excellent, the wine and beer selection diverse, and the service is always friendly and efficient. Normally when we arrive there are only a few parking spaces left, this place does... More

So, I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was to best ive had in a while!!!!!! Food was on point but, the dish came with this rich sauce and no damn bread to dip in it!!!!! Also, I don't mind sitting myself but, I had to get my own drink refills AND they made most of the lunch customers pay... More

Stopped for lunch expecting the regular pizza, calzone menu but instead found some really excellent Italian food. I had a spaghetti and meat sauce lunch special that was outstanding, my friend had the mussels in a tomato based sauce and that was also very good. A nice selection of wines and fantastic service!

I have only ordered take out pizza and calzones (2 young kids) but their pizza is awesome and a welcome relief from most of the NY style pizza places that dominate the area. They have interesting ingredients, our favorite is the grilled vegetable with grilled eggplant, zucchini and onions. However their other pies look good too. The calzones are big... More

In my opinion this is the best overall Italian restaurant in the area. I've dined there on many occasions and it never fails to deliver an excellent experience. If you haven't made it out to this restaurant I would strongly recommend it and decide for yourself. The only negative is that the wine is pricey.
