We were a large table and there seemed to be one chef in the kitchen, and one waiter. I can see how this would be a good romantic-meal-for-two restaurant but don't think it worked well for big groups. The atmosphere was slightly lacking as well. There were elements in the cooking that were lovely but every dish was overcomplicated. Too... More

We got into Auburn later than planned and Terroir was open after the pub stopped serving. Great result though as the food was delicious and service fantastic. 👌👌

The wife and I stayed in Auburn over Easter and happened across this amazing restaurant specialising in local produce. Great atmosphere. Great staff and the food was awesome. The wines were excellent - all local. It was truly an experience which was thoroughly enjoyable. A great way to spend a Saturday evening . Highly recommended

Attend at Terroir on Wednesday night looking forward to a great meal. Was greeted at the door and shown to our table. The meal for the night was explained and a wine to go with the meal was recommended, and we were not disappointed. The meal was fantastic and full if local ingredients. I am glad this restaurant was recommended.... More

We were lucky enough to dine at Terroir twice on the weekend and we were all very impressed with the restaurant. Our first visit started with having the door opened by one of the staff and being seated. Nice ambience and service was prompt and efficient. The highlight was the food - beautifully presented, some adventurous options, great flavours and... More

We were a bit disillusioned by the 'foodie' vibe in the Clare Valley, as there's not a lot of options. Looking for lunch with 2 winery restaurants full and 2 other food places closed at 2 for lunch (by this time it was after 2). So we were extremely grateful to find Terroir Auburn and it couldn't have turned out... More

Late lunch after a couple of big tastings in the Clare and we lucked out in finding Terroir! No nonsense and speedy service with carefully and cleverly composed tasting plates. Beautifully fresh ingredients and generous size serves, we shared the prosciutto wrapped figs, the stuffed zucchini flowers and the potato skins with black pudding - all superb! Lovely old dining... Had a fantastic tasting menu at a great price. We went to Auburn to try this restaurant on the advice of the Good Eats Guide and were very pleased we did.

Was travelling with friends who had mentioned this place. But we didn't think we could get in. The chances of going to a cellar door and meeting chef Rohans mum got us there. Julie called through and got us a table. Well the service was fantastic - the food Bloody amazing and just one of the best dining experiences. This... More
