12 of us booked for the Mother's day brunch and each course was fantastic. The service was courteous and timely. Will be back soon.

As holiday tourists we stumbled across Knife and Fork, and we're so glad we did! The trappings are simple, but creative and charming. The menu offers perhaps half a dozen entrees based on local availability. At our table we ordered the chicken and dumplings (a light broth rendition which was perfectly seasoned), the trout tempura sandwich (including a banana pepper... More

We've only eaten here twice and just for lunch. Unfortunately, dinner hasn't been possible because we've stayed overnight too far away to drive windy, mountain roads at night. What's remarkable: the vegetables and the way they are cooked- the chef is a genius. We order almost every side and salad on the menu because they are so wonderful and special.... More

We think the world of Nate and were excited to see the new location. We made reservations for my husband's birthday 2 weeks prior. We were first ones in the restaurant and were sat at the table right by the bathrooms. We saw everyone come in and out throughout the evening. Wait staff was good, but did not appear to... More

Hi sherrycat, We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your food. Our reservation floor plan is made to best utilize the space in the dining room through out the evening. Although it may seem arbitrary, a lot of work goes in to deciding where to seat each guest that comes in. If you are ever unhappy with your... More

This is an amazing restaurant in Spruce Pine, NC. Yes, Spruce Pine -- an hour away from Boone but well worth the drive. We first visited in October and ate outside. The menu is full of incredible choices, all farm to table. But we discovered that even better than trying to decide from the menu is to let Chef Nate... More

Lively, farm fresh, upscale dinner. We started with pumpkin soup, just the right blend of earthy root goodness and heat topped with roasted pumpkin seeds. Our meals included a generous portion of meat grilled to perfection and veggies. To match the taste experience, sit at the bar and enjoy watching these guys prepare all the selections. Really cool to see!... More

I last reviewed the Knife and Fork about four years ago and have been back a number of times, most recently the last weekend in October 2016. Since my last visit K&F has moved to a new space in a building adjacent to the old one. I think I like the new home better than the old one. It's much... More

Very good food but a little pricey for the quantity. I recommend sitting at the bar, if possible, to watch the chefs work as it is very entertaining. Menu choices were good as was the wine list. We will eat there again when in the area and recommend.

This restaurant is in Spruce Pine, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. A beautiful setting, & chef/owner Nate Allen uses locally sourced products, with a great wine list. For lunch we had Cucumber Gazpacho, followed by Roasted Eggplant, ratatouille purée, sliced cherry tomatoes & basil. The Grilled Trout Sandwich, with crispy potatoes was also good. We sat at the bar,... More
