Top Dog has been around for a long time and offers a consistent quality menu of seafood, burgers and salads. We went for lunch and had the grouper, which was huge and excellent. It a small place which is very popular and can be difficult to get seating.

Had good food there and it is a casual place that my wife and I enjoyed. Had fried scallops and fish and my wife had fried shrimp. Clean and tasty. Average price.

I love to experience new places to eat and they did not disappoint with their fish tacos. There are 2 tacos but quite filling, the key lime pie was ok nothing to rave about but good. I am a beer snob & wished they had a larger craft beer selection but did find a beer that went well with the... More

We stopped only because it was on the highway. Needless to say we were blown away with the food. Not much to look at and a TINY dining room but the service was fast and the ambience was welcoming. It is suitable for couples, friends and family. A little on the high end for pricing but worth every penny. If... More

My husband and I wanted something quick to eat BEFORE we went to the grocery store in Avon on chck in day. WOW! Amazing food. Great find! We almost decided to eat here everyday instead of going to store! Lol. I had fish tacos. Amazing! My husband had Caribbean shrimp jalapeno wrap. OMG. So good. Next time we will order... More

We have been visiting Rodanthe for 3 years and had not tried Top Dog until this week, and wow, we have been missing out!!! The food was perfect! Not a complaint from the table, and that's very unusual. We have a few picky eaters in our group! Wait staff was great! We will make this a "must eat" on our... More

This is one of those rare places that surprises you. The hours are quirky yet the food is wonderful. The menu has a great balance of food types with excellent fish tacos and burgers. The burger prices are higher than other places and worth the price if you are a burger fan. There is a decent variety of beer and... More

Top Dog is one of our favorite OBX restaurants. It's laid back and most of the dining accessories are disposable, but the food is good and staff welcoming. They're not open late so be sure to check the hours if you're traveling through.

My husband and I ate here our first night of vacation. Very casual- like, plastic chairs and tables, lots of beachy/island decor hanging every where. The food was good- I had fish tacos and my husband had fried grouper sandwich. Local fresh seafood. I believe they closed the end of that week for the season, which was a shame because... More
