we ate there on a sunday nite. busy but now crowded. food and service were excellent. reasonable noise level. good menu variety. the rainbow trout and shrimp cocktail were superb. AND the twice baked potatoes are hand made in the kitchen with REAL, not out of a box, mashed potatoes that were well seasoned. just a wonderful meal.

I did it again!! I managed to get my folks off upper Crabtree mountain, out of their muddy boots and into "town" to eat at Maggie's Galley. We started with pre-meal cocktails and oysters at the bar and even after two years (since my last review of M.G.) the bar staff is still soooo lackadaisical and nonchalant!! What gives? Why... More

This place used to be wonderful at its old location. Not sure when they moved (been a few years). We stopped in when in the area one early evening (4/5pm) ordered clam chowder, salads, steaks and kids meals. Wasn't impressed AT ALL with the steak. (Ribeye) clam chowder tasted from a can and was luke warm. Our salads were good.... More

My family was in town for the weekend for a family event. This restaurant was recommended by a local family friend. It was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent, too! I had the grilled tiger shrimp with steamed veggies and seafood chowder. It was all excellent! I especially loved the Seafood Chowder, I could make a meal out of that... More

Dinner was very good at Maggies. We enjoyed the food. Service was good. Fresh fish, nice and casual dining in Waynesville.

I was not sure of this place as seafood in the mountains could not be as good as seafood near the coast. I was wrong. We had the oysters on the half shell and oysters rockefeller as an app. The raw oysters were cold fresh and very good. The Rockefeller was a bit of a disappointment. The cheese was just... More

Chairs lining the entrance offer a hint that it is common to wait for a table. Once seated however the food helps you forget that annoyance. Thumbs up for a seafood dip appetizer the chef was testing that night - we were given a complimentary serving. My partner ordered steak and described it as "very good." I had a cup... More

Unless you receive a recommendation to dine at Maggie's Galley, chances are you might ride by and decide to not stop and try the food. Big mistake!! Inside, one gets the feel they are at the beach and the food is just as good as any you find on the coast. It is all good and the service is also... More
