We were a large group of us participating in "The Taste of Carolina." This is where we get to try a small dish and a drink. The restaurant passed out small baguette pieces of bread with a choice of three spreads which was just ok. We were given a 1/2 glass of wine. As much as the owner was very... More

Thank you for your review. I will send a copy to the tour group "Taste of Carolina" who organizes & chooses what to serve at each stop. The Mediterranean Trio is a popular appetizer. We invite you to join us for lunch or sunset dinner and sample our menu through choosing an appetizer, entrée and dessert while enjoying a unique... More

Stopped for a glass of rose' and next thing you know, we're having cheeses, fresh baguettes, and another glass of wine. Its right there on the river and a cool place to sip and people watch. Its one of the places where you can see an awesome sunset. And, it was romantic sitting there sipping and nibbling with my hubby.... More

We've enjoyed Le Catalan since they first opened in 2001. The owners, Pierre and Marie, are welcoming and have created an inviting and charming spot. Their quiches are delicious as are the Escargot Feuilletes and the Mediterranean Trio! Great spot to meet friends for lunch or to enjoy a light evening dinner and watch sunsets over the river.

OMGoodness, that quiche. The crust was basically a puff pastry. And the filling was incredible. Le Catalan is very dog friendly, at least when it comes to outdoor seating. They have phenomenal river views, friendly staff and a cute bistro table atmosphere.

Le Catalan was well-reviewed on Trip Advisor but surprisingly not one of the top ten in Wilmington. I cannot imagine why. This is an unpretentious, remarkably well-priced bistro with many classic French bistro dishes prepared perfectly, served promptly and hot, on a wood deck overlooking the Cape Fear River. We dined as the sun was setting across the river and... More

We reserved a table upstairs and it was perfect for 7. Service was impeccable and the food outstanding for everyone. Ranging in age fro 12 to 76, everyone enjoyedit... hard for a restaurant to do. There was much sharing of food around the table showing the delight with the whole process. This has to be the best in Wilmington.

We had been walking all afternoon, and decided to stop at this cute little bistro. I was in for in a great treat, starting with a lovely chicken curry salad, Hubby had the beef hotdogs in puff pastry. We were both thrilled! We most definitely will be back here the next time we are in Wilmington, North Carolina. This was... More

We stopped here for lunch because, although dogs on leash are common in the historic district, this was one of the few dog friendly eateries in the area. The setting outside on the patio is quite nice. The sturdy tables are appreciated. We had a quiche and the charcuterie plate. A little pricey. The selection on the plate was good... More

My husband and I went to Le Catalan for an early dinner. The indoor dining space was very cosy and our table gave us a good view of the Cape Fear river. We did the red and white wine tasting and were impressed with the offerings given. During the tasting we had the Mediterranean trio as an appetizer. Each of... More
