If you want to visit a restaurant the locals love, this is the place! The salsa bar is incredible and the Thai nachos yummy. The restrooms and the restaurant could be (a lot) cleaner, but that does keep us from coming back again and again!

As much as I LOVE Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn (Wilmington) & Causeway Cafe (Wrightsville Beach) I'm not sure if they have gluten free items or not. I Googled and saw that there are some restaurants that do...some I'm familiar with & know have good food are Mellow Mushroom (Wilmington) South Beach Grill (Wrightsville) and then Deck House, Uncle Vinny's, Michael's Seafood & Katy]s Pancake House (all Carolina Beach). There were other restaurants that were listed with gluten free menu items, but none that I've eaten at, The Causeway Cafe is by far THE BEST place to eat. They are in Wrightsville Beach, and only open until 2:00 pm. They always cook with fresh seafood/ingredients. It is a small "mom & pop" type cafe but the food & service are 5 star quality. Their phone number is 910-256-3730. Uncle Vinny's has really good pizza....but they are very pricey. You could get just as good if not better pizza a bit cheaper at Mellow Mushroom on Oleander Ave in Wilmington,,,and they do have gluten free too. I would suggest Google gluten free restaurants in Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach & Wilmington....then check out the review for those places on Trip Advisor. Carolina Beach has a boardwalk with more things to do with kids; but Wrightsville Beach is MUCH prettier & relaxing. If you go the the end of Wrightsville Beach near the coast guard station, you can often find UNBROKEN conch shells, sea glass, sea turtles, bird sanctuary and calmer water at that location to swim in. There are NO bathrooms at that end though! Hope you guys have a great time!
