My friend and I stopped in on our way home from the lake. It is decorated like an old time malt shop (hence, the name). It is so cute, with little red poodle skirts and Coca Cola memorabilia hanging on the walls. The ladies restroom was clean and actually smelled quite pleasant. We had the pleasure of visiting with Viviane.... More

Was highly recommended by family member living in Garrison. But upon entering was treated like out of towners! Ordered the ribeye was not cooked as ordered. Stay away !!!!

I travel throughout North Dakota regularly on business. I enjoy stopping and eating at the independent restaurants. We were in Garrison and business and just chanced to spot Ye Olde Malt Shoppe. We decided to stop for lunch. The place clean and well decorated in retro malt shop decco. It was homey with good friendly service. I ordered a burger... More

My wife and I had dinner here last night and it was a great experience. The food was good- we split a Chicken Fried Steak and dinner salad. The real experience here was speaking with Vivian (our waitress). She's 85 years old and has held two jobs for most of her life. Great Fun!

We have been here 4 times now for lunch and our picks are the mushroom swiss burger & the Ruben with onion rings. Don't forget a piece of homemade strawberry rhubarb pie to go.

Have never had a full meal here, but have been there twice now for ice cream and it was awesome! The atmosphere is also great - very much the old fashioned small town diner feel. They definitely need a dedicated cashier though.... 10 minute wait at the till is ridiculous!

The presentation was wonderful, the people were friendly and the food was great. Only thing was the chips were a bit soggy.

Food was fine, not amazing, but okay. Prices reasonable, service can be slow, but it is a relaxed small town.

We visited Garrison for the Dickens Festival last weekend. It was so chilly and snowy that we decided to go somewhere and sit down for supper. Should've braved the weather. I bet the street food was waaaay better. Service was slow, even though the place was mostly empty. I had one of the weekend specials - the walleye. It was... More
