What a gem we found! This super cute, super clean little restaurant was like walking back in time. Complete with jukebox at each table, big and small booths and a soda counter! Service was excellent. The owner, Dave, was very friendly and paid attention to...detail. Now, the food.... wonderful! I had the chicken noodle soup and the Super Bird sandwich. The soup was phenomenal and was very dense. The sandwich had plenty of meat and double the cranberries as suggested. My sister had the beat salad and said it tasted fantastic. We would definitely recommend and am looking forward to return!More

A group of us visited High River for the day. We happened upon Evelyn’s. Everything was so tasty. Two had sandwiches, two had Dave’s mistake salad and one had the Buddha bowl. There was only one bowl left. I had the salad. I’m craving another...one! It is three salads in one, broccoli, beet and feta and a lettuce tomato, which was a substitute because they ran out of buddy bowls. It was topped with chicken. Definitely worth another trip to High River!More

We went there fir birthday lunch and it was perfect . Very busy which is a good sign that shows it is popular! Staff were all very busy but worked hard to get food out in time. We didn't want a dine and dash place...so all was well. Had a reuban sanwhich which was best I have had for a long time with tons of meat on it. My sis had the beef Barley soup and a reuban. Soup also wonderful! If you are looking for a great place with homemade food and don't mind just relaxing and enjoying life then this place is for you!More

We loved Evelyn's. I'm not sure if it's now under new ownership but the standards and level of service has fallen. I had a delicious veggie sandwich yesterday though when it arrived I could see thumbprints in the bread. I also waited for a water...refill and wanted to order a slice of pie but that opportunity never presented itself which was very unlike other times we have visited. It was well after the lunch rush and not busy. I ended up ordering a cinnamon bun ($3.50) and a slice of pie to go. I near died when I saw my slice of pie was $7. For a small slice of cherry pie. And upon eating it at home it was terrible. The crust was dry and the cherry filling was a gelatinous cornstarchy mess. I have two toddlers who tried it and also wouldn't eat it. We loved Evelyn's but after this visit its unlikely we well return.More

Got there around 3:40 pm on a Thursday after having eaten on the run during the day, we weren't sure how much we wanted to order. Place not empty but certainly not crowded at that hour either. Got seated inside, got menus, got glasses of...water. The wait staff then proceeded to completely ignore us for 10 or 15 minutes as they chatted amongst themselves and occasionally visited a couple of other tables. We gave up and went to the counter where we requested a piece of Saskatoon Berry Pie for takeout. Got it promptly, pushed open the door and sat at one of the diner's outside tables. The pie was super delicious, in some ways even better than the one I had in Saskatoon! Then we went on our way.More

Great little place with nice sized portions. Couldn't fit desert, so we didn't order any. I was relieved we hadn't when I saw the size of their carrot cake. It was a meal in itself. Very cute diner and we were able to sit outside...and enjoy such a quiet nice place. This whole little town is cute.More

Visited High River with the intention of trying a different restaurant which, unfortunately, was closed for the day. We were so delighted this was the case as the lunch we had @ Evelyn’s was superb. @ 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - a...range of soup & sandwich / sandwich & salad and sandwiches. If anything the sandwich fillings were FAR too much. Drinks were all very good with milk shakes to die for. Service was very polite and efficient. We have visited many times over the years and would have no hesitation in visiting again. Many thanks.More

Sadly we made a special trip from Calgary to revisit this diner as a previous 3 years ago was exceptional. We were one of 2 guests dining in, waited for menus and was told Summer would be with us shortly, after a lengthy wait, whilst...no one appeared to be busy I approached the counter & said I would like a slice of the only cake in display ( this cake had already been cut with about 3/4 remaining) & would double check what my husband wanted - no mention was made of offering table service. Returned to counter, 2 minutes later & waited behind a walk in customer only to see that the remainder of the cake had been sold to her!!! So after lengthy drive, no customer service we decided to leave and go next door where customer service was exceptional and great quality coffees & cake.More

My husband and I enjoyed an 'out of this world' lunch! I had what might well be the most amazing mushroom soup and my husband really enjoyed a 'Bird' (sandwich on glorious home-made bread!). The restaurant was homey ,even had a train running around the...top of the wall, spotless and more than welcoming. We treated ourselves to a real milkshake ( not machine ejection) for dessert. The meal was certainly worth the price! Besure to look out for the gal with the amazing smile. You'll know her immediately--the smile lights up the whole room!More
