Wonder restaurant with a view of Kootenay Lake on one side and the hot springs pool on another. Reservations are required, and although we arrived early, we were seated right away. The service was very friendly, and we were given recommendations on what was especially good. The salads were very good, and the meals were exceptional. If you are staying at Ainsworth, you should eat at least one meal at the Ktunaxa Grill.

Camron was our server, provided exceptional service. We had a 5pm dinner reservation as we were staying at the resort for the evening and wanted to stay out and soak as late as possible. The grill opened at 5 and was not busy at this time. We were a bit overwhelmed with the menu but Camron was able to explain everything and make it not so overwhelming. We had the dry rub chicken wings, AH-MAZ-ING! So delicious. The seasoning blend was great and then we had a water dish with lemon in it to rinse our fingers. So fun! We split the house burger, the meat is from the owners farm. Was delicious as well. Their gluten free buns did not taste gluten free, light and fluffy and didn’t fall apart. String fries were good and a solid amount. Camron checked in on us multiple times and was so kind and attentive. This grill had incredible food & service, we can’t wait to come back.

We enjoyed two dinners and two breakfast at the Ktunaxa Grill. The chef is amazing and obviously takes a lot of pride in providing a very memorable meal. Portion sizes are large so make sure to bring your appetite. We had the Ktunaxa Grill Signature Chicken and The Reuben the first night and second night the Mushrooms on toast, wild rice, grilled vegetables, Bison French Onion soup and lavender cheesecake for desert. The Mushrooms on toast had our taste buds tingling and the wild rice was delicious!! The lavender cheesecake was a great way to end our meals.
Breakfast both mornings were amazing served with beautiful homemade jam. The wait staff provided amazing service. Highly recommended!!

We arrived at 11am for brunch prior to our 1pm hot springs reservations. We were greeted by our waiter who assured us we could order brunch (served until 11:30am). We were told to pick a table and he would be right with us. Despite being one of only 3 other tables in the space, we waited 20 minutes before he acknowledged us and gave us menus (all the while addressing the other 3 tables multiple times). We placed our brunch order and then watched him wait another 15 minutes before giving the order to the kitchen. 10 minutes after that he came back and told us the kitchen had already turned over for lunch. Since there were no other options in the area, we ordered from the lunch menu, which was very disappointing. $26 for an extremely small charcuterie board was absolutely not worth it. Very let down by the service, especially since we seemed to be the only table that was ignored. We were acknowledged again until we asked for the check either. Overall, do not recommend this place as it was a waste of time and money for mediocre food and terrible service.

I went to the Grill portion attached to the hot spring attraction and I would recommend eating elsewhere. The food is overpriced with really cheap push ins, like McCain fries, 14$ Margherita made from the premix and poured over ice???? What??? And in a half glass! Lol! I was expecting at least an actual Margherita glass.
The servers was odd, the communication was odd, and then the server became rude when we tried to clarify what was available and what wasn't and he made that out to be our fault. Sorry sir. It's like a very over priced Smittys with fancy plating. I don't recommend.

We stayed at the Ainsworth Hot springs and tried their dinner restaurant. It tries to be upscale but we were disappointed.
The food choices seemed good and we had both good and bad experiences. The mussels were good but the steak and smashed potatoes (not mashed potatoes) was not that great (especially for the price). Other members of our party had good comments on their food but we weren’t coming back again.
The service was mixed. The hostess tried to sit us in a bad table when there were many better tables and booths open. The waiter was good but not very friendly.
The restaurant looks nice and there are many food choices so you may have better luck than we did.

I order fish & chips, for take away. The fish came overdone, a bit burnt. The fries were dry. Totally disappointed, especially when they charged 12% tips and delivered no quality.

The mix of flavors in the food were incredible. The fresh vegetables and fruits make the dishes unique and tasty. Everything had wonderful spices which complimented each other perfectly.
The medium rare duck was very tender and the reduction sauce was very flavorful. The cheese cake dessert with the fresh blueberries was spot on with both cow and goat cheeses.
Oh I forgot to mention! The servers were extremely professional, attentive and knowledgeable about the meal. Jules you were awesome!
The breathtaking view from the restaurant of the pristine Lake Kootenay and the tree filled mountains.
This is a five star restaurant in my opinion and I eat out often. The chef should be submitted and awarded the Michelin award
It was a wonderful experience which I will never forget. I hope to come back again!
Thanks again!

The mussels were good. Our server was new and quite lovely and did her absolute finest at answering our questions and working with our concerns. Due to food intolerances we had a lot of questions and she was thorough and checked with the kitchen for all of them. Unfortunately we were then served wings full of gluten. It would have been a twenty minute wait for gluten free wings so we were unable to eat together. The large disappointment was that the new server had a complicated issue and management did not step in to help her out or offer something for the mistake which as humans we all make. I worked in the food industry for 15 years and it would have been simple for the manager to come over, apologize and offer us a glass of wine while waiting for the wings. When we spoke with management the response was yea we should probably change the menu as we’ve had this issue before. A huge disappointment for what was meant to be a lovely evening out.

We were Hungry following a late afternoon swim.
Decided to try the hotel restaurant.
Staying across the road from the pool, we decided to take the food back to the condo.
We ordered Bannock with a bowl of soup, calamari and an order of fish and chips.
The Soup was beef vegetable and was average tasting but overpriced at $10. The Bannock was average as well but overpriced at $12. The calamari was undercooked and greasy and portion too small for the price. As for the fish and chips. The chips were mixed with previously cooked ones and the fish was dripping with oil. $60 for this meal.
The place represents itself as a higher class establishment so we expected that in turn for the food quality. Sadly we were mistaken.

The view is beautiful and the meal was delicious. Service was great. One of us had the duck which came with an amazing sauce, wild rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables. The other meal was the elk dish with a wonderful Saskatoon sauce. Will definitely be back!

I would like to believe that racial discrimination is becoming increasingly rare and no longer a salient issue. However the greeting and inferior service by our waitress upon arrival at the Ktunaxa Grill on June 6 for dinner was rude and condescending. The look of disdain and sharpness in her tone in which each one of us was addressed was less than acceptable. Hopefully this is a one time incident as we regularly recommend this establishment to our many visitors and friends.

We were lucky enough to get the last room at the resort, and one of the last reservation bookings for this fancy little rooftop restaurant overlooking the lake and the pools.
It was for a special occasion, so we were aware it would be a bit pricey given its the only spot around that's open right now, so we were delightfully surprised at how scrumptious everything tasted! We had trouble narrowing down what to order because it all sounded so tasty! (still regret not trying the bannock!)
We had calamari for an appetizer and it was cooked to perfection, I had the pasta special and it was delicious-the shrimp were delectible, and my spouse had fish and chips and it was very good.
The server was very friendly and prompt.

The restaurant is located on the top floor of the building. It has a good view of the lake. But that's all the good things that can be said. We had dinner and breakfast there in early May. And all the food tasted like it came out of the freezer where it had been stored since the fall. The mussels were the tiniest I have ever seen. And they certainly were not from Saltspring Island as advertised. I know because we have lived there. Bannock was undercooked and stayed in our stomachs the whole next day. Fish & Chips were flat (the fish), about 1/2 inch high and old. Breakfast was no better. The toast was stale and the eggs had a dark bottom, probably from a griddle that hadn't been cleaned. Service was both bad and good. Our first server disappeared halfway through dinner and was relieved by two(!) others. Service at breakfast was pleasant and constant.
Suggestion: Eat there in the summer and/or fall when supplies are fresh.

We come every year for an after new year's trip and love the place. Unfortunately our friend was not feeling great on the final day and we went for breakfast, the older Male server was cold and rude to them when they simply just wanted a cup of tea to settle their stomach even though the rest of the diners were ordering full meals. Its unfortunate his attitude had to sour the mood of the final day of our otherwise great vacation.
